The "Baby" is 3/16" thick with convex grind and shares many of the same attributes of the Big Daddy SARsquatch. . .

Ok. This is going in the right direction. Next the folding SARsquatch?:D;) Please?

Seriously now: nice design. I think I like the baby more than the daddy.

Yup, there is the replacement for my new Bark River Bravo-1! You couldn't stand that I bought a different brand could you Jerry? :D I like it!

Yeap, very nice, will be a fine knife. Like all the different grind angles. Thanks, i'll have one.

Any chance there'll be serrations as an option like we had when ordering the Sus Scrofas? Me loves the serrations.

I'm just curious *doesn't matter to me either way*, but what function do the small choils serve? If you can't fit a finger in it, why have it there? I'm sure there's a reason cuz they end up in so many designs. Could someone help me understand. Thanks.

Makes sharpening the full edge easier.

I like the design a lot... but... I feel that the choil/sharpening notch should be either big enough for the index finger (1")... or smaller to allow getting the hand closer to the edge.

I would vote for smaller... but... what do I know. :D

I think it is EXCELLENT!!

(what napkin was this drawn on? :D)

BRING IT!!!

Awesome, and perfect companion to the full version. I can see myself using this one, alot!

I would love to see a serration option like on the mini SS. I know a lot are against it, but I believe there are many for it as well.

This looks great. The perfect compromise between the SJ and BA3 blades. I personally would prefer to eliminate the choil and run the blade edge right back into the talon hole/ricasso, but I can cope either way.

I think both the large and small versions look great.

But, I vote for a VERY small sharpening choil.

I like how the scales come further down the guard on the larger one and the tighter radius at the index finger on the larger one.

If it were up to me (personal preference), I would probably prefer a little more of a spear point on both sizes - closer to the SJTAC style point.

I don't know about everyone else's thumbs, but I am concerned about the thumb ramp location. Many of my Busse (and kin) knives have had the thumb ramp located where the middle of my thumb falls right on the peak of the ramp which I find annoying.

The original Ratweiler, the Rat Mastiff, the Yard Guard, Dog Skinner, Desert Jack, Rat Hunter, SAR-Rat and SJTAC, BATAC all had ramps that did not work for my thumbs. - Maybe my thumbs are long (?????), but I had to regrind / grind down many ramps over the years to fit me better.

However, on the HRLM and RMD, my thumb fall comfortably on the forward side of the ramp. The RMD is better. I had to slightly shallow out the thump recess on my HRLM.

So, I tend to not be so big a fan of the thumb ramps - unless they are just right. It just seems better to me to not have them. But, I guess I can grind them off if I have to.

..... I can't personally even conceive how people like the Mojo's and Yard Hook type bumps on the top of the spines. I tend to use my thumb on the spine a lot - especially in non-chopping tasks.

**** But, I can't make an over-sized sharpening choil smaller. So, I would sure like to see those a LOT smaller.

Think of hte cool leather piggy-back sheaths we're gonna see with these two blades.

Now we have a quandary: Do we scream for the SAR or the Muk first???

I would think a sharpening choil with a diamater of about 0.0625" (1/16") - 0.1" would be PLENTY.

....... Or I could just do without a sharpening choil altogether and I would be fine with and having the blade edge run all the way into the ricasso.

It looks great!

A little bigger than I thought a "baby" would be, but VERY nice.

You could pair a mini-muk with a SARsquatch and have a sweet survival/woods combo.

I like this one as well, I like that style of knife and the handle for that sized knife looks like it would be comfortable.
