Baby YCS?

Hi Uncle Bill,

After seeing the couple of Baby GRS's showing up as PGA's (and being beaten to the punch twice by a fellow Aussie :) ). I have been wondering about the practicality
of getting a smaller version of the YCS.

I love my full size YCS but find it just too large for practical carry on a day-pack.
Would it be possible to get a YCS of about 15in OAL?

Also, seeing as this was is one of Yvsa's designs I'd only want to proceed if he gave the idea the go-ahead.

Cheers

Andre

I'm betting it will be possible!:) I have many of the same khukuris in different sizes. You might have to wait a month or two but if you pre pay for one you can get it alot faster!:)

Hello Andre:

If you email me and bug me I'll check and see what we have in stock. We might have a 16 incher and it's not worth the trouble to special order that knife for just an inch less.

Not a problem for me.
I believe one around 14" would be a really nice little concealed carry rig. :D
The kardas could also be made around 3/32" thick as well, would make really nice little capeing knives.;)

Yvsa,

I agree. ... a 14er would be sweet. I love my big one, but the thought of a baby YCS for a carry khuk is very tempting. We'd just have to come up with a new concealable sheath.

Ash,

If I had known you were after one of those Baby GRS's, I would have definitely dropped out of the bidding, absolutely, definitely, would I kid you (I have already warned Uncle Bill about the tall tales we Australians sometimes tell :D )? I promise I will leave the next one for you - in truth, I am out of funds for the moment. I've now bought 5 khukuries in the last two months and given three to offspring. I am keeping one of the BGRS's and a 15 inch Chiruwa Ang Khola for myself.

Except for the YCS, I think I have the HIK virus under control for the moment. However, from the photos, I reckon the YCS is the most beautiful knife Uncle Bill sells. When I eventually get one I don't think I will ever use it. I'll just set it up on a shelf and drool over it every now and again. I would love to own a smaller version. I'll probably save my pennies and eventually do what Uncle Bill recommended. That is send him an email when I have the funds to see if he has a 16 inch YCS in stock. That will be my next knife! If he ever puts one of these up on sale I don't know whether I will be able to control myself - that darned HIK virus - just thinking about the YCS sets it off :( .

I feel your pain Glenn:D

As if it wasn't bad enough what Yvsa did to his fellow HIKV sufferers with the YCS, now he's gone and designed the Cherokee Rose--proving that the virus is Himalayan Imports KNIFE virus as well;):D

Now there's talk of a Baby YCS:eek: Stop the madness!!Not enough money--too many great knives. AAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:eek: :D

So does anyone want me to quit designing blades?;) :p  :D

The new models that may come from Berk and Foxy with perhaps John Powell entering into the mix as well (hopefully) gives us all the potential opportunity to obtain some very beautiful knives that otherwise wouldn't be made.
I sure wish the lack of a distal taper could be cleared up somehow. If Foxy's models could be made to reflect the distal taper then I think the situation would be perfect!!!!:)
A copy of the beautiful old Tin Chirra John has/had would certainly make me open the old pocketbook!!!!:D

Awwwk!

The rest of the world except for a few collectors is unilluminated as to the khuk's virtues, or limited to buying Atlanta Cutlery, tourist khuks from Kukuri House, or Cold Steel knock-offs and Uncle Bill keeps coming up with stuff that transcends the likes of his regular line. Reproduction of Mala, M43, etc,. YCS and tin chirras. Chitlangis. GRS and BGRS.

The regular line khuks are awesome, with character and some spirit to them. The special runs are pure magic. They are hibernating under there, dormant in their sheathes until drawn, and then they come to life.

They are calling me.......................

Absolutely not! But do you have to be so d@mn good at it? :D
At least have some pity and please design an everlasting goth-stopper ...one is all you'll ever need (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory).

I tried to get that Royal Armoury khukuri with the carved ivory handle replicated years ago. Sent a dozen pix with specs. Guess what I got? Hanuman and a lot of explanation as to why.

If we had an honest model I'm betting BirGorkha could come within 95% but no ivory.

So does anyone want me to quit designing blades?

GULP:eek: NO NO NO!!! I don't want 5 dozen khuk wielding HIKV patients foaming at the mouth chopping down MY house:eek: :D

Whew! That was a close one;):D
