Hi everyone :)

Today it is something for the kitchen, inspired by Japan.

Bachitaro

Blade - Damascus steel 1,2842 (O2) + 75ni8 Uddeholm (15N20)
Guard - 1,2842 (O2) steel + 75ni8 Uddeholm (15N20)
Handle - Birch burl
Average length - 38 cm (approx- 15 inches) , blade - 24 cm (approx- 9,5 inches).
Blade width at widest point 50 mm (approx 2 inches )mm , blade thickness 3,5 mm (0,14 inches).

I've been wondering, do you parkerize your damascus or is that just the way O2 looks when etched?

Hi Paul.

It is not parkerized. The O2 can give you very dark color on etch. Combined with some nickel alloyed steel (15N20 in this case) it will give you the best contrast if you know how to do it right :) There are some black magic touches :) thanks Petr

PS: Of course i get the pictures best way i can to make the contrast even biger, blade coated by thin coat of oil ...etc ! But it is really very dark and contrast anyway!
