Back Button Issue

I looked through this subforums post titles and did an advanced search using, "back button", and couldn't find mention of this.

It started when the banner ads were first implemented.

When I use the back button, sometimes it takes me back one page, sometimes two pages and sometimes it takes me right out of the site completely.

What gives and is there a fix for this?

I've had a similar result from time to time, but honestly, it feels like I may be double tapping the key when I do it.

What I do to get back where I was is hit the Forward Button --> or Right Mouse click to bring up the history and click on the listed link I wanted to be on.
 
I am experiencing this with several different machines on many different sites. I think it's an IE issue, but I could be wrong.
 
I had experienced this so much (especially on my touch screen devices) that I actually changed the way I browse forums. For example when I'm in a thread and done with it, instead of clicking back I click the sub-forum link at the top of the page where it says "Forums > Service&Support > Tech Support, General Q&A" I click that link, this also reloads the page to reflect any new posts. To go back to the main page I click the BFC logo in the top left corner (you could also click the first "forums" link in that same string to go to the main page as well).

It's happening to me also. Started with the banner ads. I hope they fix this because it does make it harder to browse the threads especially when it sends me off the forum.
 
I've been using a track pad lately and just swipe to go back. I haven't had any issues at all.
 
I hate to be the downer, but I get kicked out of BF sometimes. Never used to be this way. Should I quit whining and get used to it?
 
Don't use the back button. Go to the heading and click on the forum you had been on.
