Hello folks,
Long time no see here. I hope I can still post stuff
I've been out of the knifemaking world for various reasons, let's see .. I moved out of my parents place .. still studying ... no money -> job ... the usual trouble with the ladies of the past and so on ... you get the basic idea
BUT it didn't kill me, so it made me stronger
Hell it took me a year to get my own place, my own workingplace including new forge, a job AND still continuing on the university ( and even looking good this year).
I also owe an appology to MarkCid aka Mark Huntington, a great guy, who ordered a skinner, but before I started ( and right after I finished the first skinner) my dad lost his job which triggered this massive change. I am back on track and his skinner is in the works ( gorgeous blade is already done), but I am WELL over the period I said it would be done.
Anyway, I was reading up here, and there was a request for pics.. so I borrowed a digicam and went to work
Here goes
I had this sword blade already hardened in my stuff, so i polished it by hand with sandpaper behind my desk.. took quit some time but it's done now.
The stump of wood is seazoned pine, rather hard stuff. Check out the chickens reaction ( she's still alive) The mirrorpolish also shows good.

The sword is 20 inch cutting edge, tripple quenched tripple tempered charcoal forged 5160, handle is a strider paracord wrap, then ostrich black leather and kangaroo wrap. Real comfy and very shock absorbing. This hit in the wood send zero vibes into my hand. I made this one as my personal fighting blade.

And this is her ( yes, her, she's got a will of her own and it's sometimes damn stubborn -to pry out of things- so it's defenitely female ) posing in the evening sun.

This is Mark's skinner blank, which is getting mounted about when you read this.

Greetz and take care.
