When my boss asked for volunteers last month to conduct some training in Beirut, well of course I jumped at the chance! "This is gonna be awesome!" I had no idea how awesome it would be! We had front row seats. The local beer is good too.

You might have seen me on CNN, holding a little girl's hand walking off of a CH-53. Anyways, it's good to be back. Now I can work on getting my new shop set up and someday, finishing another knife!

Glad you're back, Ryan! Get the shop up and running when you get time. The steel may have gotten cold, but you know how to fix that.

Welcome home Bro. What a racket you got. You get a nice trip, drink beer and play with those BIG GUNS. ;) :D

Hey dude.... Thought the first rule is to never volunteer........ LOL......

I volunteered last Jan for deployment to iraq but was turned down... believe that... Two weeks ago my COC called me as asked if I want to go in september.. I said no, then they said..... thought you already volunteered in January... so I asked.... Is this January......????

I am trying to get my GRE studied and tested. A good score and I can apply for the anesthetist program.... That is why the wait.... Wanted to get the depoloyment done before the program would start.... Probably get orders for deployment when I am suppose to leave for some program...

Anyways... got any cool pics to post... If you are at bragg.... want to have a beer...or two... or.......three...... LOL..... too bad you didnt bring beer back with ya....

Good point. Leave it to me to get excited about the beer and the bombs and forget to mention the women! The women were amazing. We managed to get out on the town one night before everything started. It happened to be the night of the World Cup final, so it was an awesome partying atmosphere. The women, and downtown Beirut are very beautiful! After the third day there though, all we did was sit on our balcony, or by the pool, and watch for bombs. A very surreal experience. I'm used to being the one controlling the bombs, so not knowing when and where they would fall, was quite different!
