I only got to spend Friday afternoon there, as I had to get back to do my daughter's therapy today. Hoever, it was great!
The new knives are even better than the pictures. They are very lively in the hand. I am a big fan of the intermediate sizes, and don't need a fighter, so I was enamored of the new Badger, Satin Jack, Natural Outlaw, and Steel Heart. The new edition of these blades is the best ever.
I wanted to order all four immediately, but to spread Christmas out, I have decided to order them one at a time. After much agonizing, my initial order is for a Natural Outlaw (what else?) in Desert Tan. I compared this knife to Skunk's Steel Heart I, and if you have always wanted a SH1, the new NO is very close.
The new SH is somewhat larger than my SHII, and the handle is fantastic.
The new Satin Jack and Badger are both 3/16" thick, which suits me fine. The Badger, at 5", may well be the most truly useful of the bunch.
The entire Busse crowd was super friendly. However, the Busse booth can really screw up a good knife show! Everything else I looked at was, to me anyway, not as appealing as the Busse products. I had intended to buy a thin Dozier D2, mainly for fishing, but after looking at them realized that my AD can do anything the Dozier could,
not to mention the Swamp Rat offerings in D2.
