Ok,got back a while ago.
I was able to pick up a
Little Temp in S30V
#ed black blade Military
PE VG 10 Pro Grip
plus a Busse and Strider shirt, guess I may have to get a Strider now that I have one of their shirts.
Now for the Spydies....
DiAlex proto was there and it was one of the best looking and best feeling Spydies I have ever handled, really hope it is produced. It looks somewhat like a MT Vector only smaller without the reverse tanto. It was my favorite proto.
The Manix is a drop point Chinook,it is in production and should be out this year.It is a must have.
The C13 stretch, updated Progrip.SS scales with kraton inserts on both sides and about a 3 1/2 in flat grind blade.Another must have.
Those are the 3 I was most impressed with.
Now we move on to the...I forget the name but it is a concept model with a dragonfly type blade uder 2 in and is being made into an assited opener.
The SS ATR is much lighter than I thought it would be,I could not really tell much wieght differance between it and the Ti model.
All I can say about the Spyderfly is that Eric is something with it,Sal ain't to bad either.Got to get one to play with.
The Kopa is comeing and Santa Fe says that a Dino bone version will be out just after they start shipping.Hope they are out by Xmas so I now what to tell Santa.
The Bison IIRC is the name of the big new folder, not really for me but many will love it.It is huge!
UK Pen knife, love it.I will be finding someone in the UK to get one for me.
Daywalkers design was not ready for the show, shame because I was really looking forward to seeing it.
I now many more designs are slipping my mind.
I got to shake hands with many fine people of the knife world,to seak of only a couple,Sal,Eric,Bram Frank,Ed Schempp, and Jerry Busse.

Hers a pic of my little goodies. The ones from Blade are on film so it will be a couple days.

Yeah,had a great time.
I had handled a Little Temp before but it was set up for tip up and I did not like it because it was very hard to get into the pocket that way.I just happened to look at this one and it was set up for tip down.Tried it and it went right in the pocket with no problem.

Good buys! That PE Pro-Grip is hard to get these days, that Lil Temp is awesome!
Also good to hear that the Manix will be coming out this year. I handled it at the IWA and it was AWESOME!! Indeed a must have!

The Manix was great! A must have.

I was one of those on britishblades who helped design the UK Penknife, glad you like it! :D

Its great that Sal and co are so in tune with the needs and desires of the customers out there! I hope this little jem is a good seller.

I heard that they were only going to be sold in Europe. One of you guys may need to help me out when they hit the streets.

I also need to get me a Spydie pin!! Nice pic's, and thanks for the "Blade Show" report.

No worries there! The ideal would be for this knife to sell out as soon as possible IMHO! :)

I would guess they will. You will have the people over there buying them plus people over here trying to get them. The UK distributor is going to be busy.

WoW! It seems Jeff beat me back to the forums... ;) However, I've got to say it was finally nice to meet Joyce though Sal and Eric were out casting votes for the show when I was there. I did get to met Ed and Bram like Jeff. Bram is over my head on the tactics (don't mess with the guy) Anyhow, Jeff it was good to met you as well and let me know about that native sometime in the future! I'm sorry that I didn't get the oppertunity to meet some others who might have gone from the forums. I like the show but its like the Masters to me in Augusta...I'd honestly only go once. Thanks to Spyderco again for the free passes my step-father and I appreciated the time it gave us to hang out together away from the wives. Well, I'll be checkin back with you all soon once I'm back in Florida. Laterz! :p

u812,

Thanks for the report. Can you describe the Manix a bit more? Is the spine of the blade straight all the way to the tip, or does it curve down like the leaf-blades? Is there another knife, Spyderco or non-Spyderco, whose blade it resembles the most?

It was great to meet you to Kudzu.
The Manix had a blade that sort of curved down.IIRC it was some what like a large Native blade without the swedge.
The whole thing struck me as a large Native, lockback Military and Chinook all rolled together.

u812,

Can you describe the Bison, the proto mega folder? What type of blade shape and lock did it have? About how big was the blade?

Thanks,

Glenn

HHUUMM,ok might be a little off on this one.The scales are as thick as the Chinook.Blade looked to be right at 5 in and was,if I can discribe it right, wavey. Not sure what you call it but kind of like some of the strange looking daggers you see from time to time in movies. The lock apeared to be the same as the Chinook.Hope that helped a little.

Thanks for the review and for your kind words. I hope others will enjoy the knife too :)

I had a very busy time @ the Blade Show..
BY the way Dialex did great with his design... Spyderco will do it justice...
I had a pleasure to meet a bunch of you and do some tactical stuff - Gunting stuff..and just plain old cutting....
Sorry I was so tired..I was just in from teaching overseas and @ our good guy spots...then drove up to Hotlanta..
Sometimes knife manufacturers are not really in touch with the tempo of the day..as you see @ BLADE Show, currently most have understood the need for Tactical knives and MBC-or SDR tools..
Quirky, self proclaimed-innovative, self indugent tools have no place in todays Tactical environment..
bad guys abound..and self righteous sheeple try to regulate our right to have edged tactical tools..
Blade Show was a wake up for all, I hope to join AKTI..
and to support your favorite knife manufacturers...

Be safe

Bram
