I had a wonderful time with Thomas and all the folks at the Kershaw sale today. Thomas and I spoke a bit about the forums and he gave me some things to give away. He said this decision wasn't directly related to any one event , but had been building for some time. Thomas is a great guy and I count him as a friend, he takes great pride in Kershaw and what they all do there, that is something that should be praised, not criticized. When we are passionate about something and someone says something derogatory or we take it that way, it is offensive. I was always taught that if you didn't have something good to say, say nothing at all. Now I have something good to say, Thank You Thomas for being a stand up guy, and for your friendship to all of us here on the forum. I have to run off and do some work for the rest of the weekend , but next week I will post a giveaway from Thomas.

Dave

I don't know anyone from this forum but i did listen to some very entertaining hunting stories while waiting in line. great event

Thank you, Kershawguy. It's good to hear that Thomas is fine.

It's not his giveaways we miss, but rather his insight and his positive attitude. We'll just have to get it second-hand now.

Please make sure he knows we respect his decision and that he still has plenty of friends out here in cyber-space. :D

this seems like as good a place as any, to thank you for the minted knife, I won in the last contest.

I went to the warehouse sale today, very crowded as always. I bought a couple of Leeks, a Rescue Blur, a Black Cyclone, an Outcast, and a kitchen knife.

Went to the sale today also. Picked up a Leek for myself in blue smoke and one for the wife for Christmas in red smoke. This will be the third knife that I have bought for her. Had a good time. Don't think any of the guys I meet in line are forum members but they were are friendly and helpful. My 8 1/2 month old daughter stood in line with me the whole time. Everyone was impressed at what a cheerful and pleasent baby she was. I was quiet impressed to. I was worried she would not hold out but she did. She was a tough little trooper.
I did not meet Thomas but if he is still around I want to thank him again for his replay to my post when I was inquiring about the dates for the sale.

I really hope he will be happier, and I'm glad theres no hard feelings for the ones who support him.

I'm VERY pleased (and relieved) to read that Thomas is ok and still with Kershaw... I didn't know WHAT to think when he left The Kershaw Forum so quickly, and without any notice.

No hard feelings from me at-all. I really miss seeing Thomas post here, and I hope that one day, when he's ready, that he'll find his way back here...If not as a moderator, then as someone who has alot of "Kershaw knowedge" to share.

Thomas if you're listening,.......if something comes up and you'd really like to voice an opinion on it,......

..........create a general "Kershaw-Rep" moniker to be used by any number of Kershaw representitives to pass along info and such.

Then those that have known & enjoyed your posts so much in the past can still benefit from your expansive knowledge base and experience,.......and you can feel free to ignore the ignorant & sometimes argumentative posters.:grumpy:

.........and the rest of us will still know it's YOU, because your posts will make the most sense! :D

Thanks for the update Dave!
I've gotten the impression that Thomas really enjoys his time at the sale, so hopefully it's been (and will continue to be) a nice respite from his frustration at the forum.

Really wish I could have been at the sale. Did you take any pictures?

I hit the sale today too. Got a ZT 0121,Leek,JYDII,small NRG,and a few others. Great prices and great folks. Line wasn't bad at 3:30 this afternoon and everyone was smiling :) It makes me smile knowing Kershaw has this sale for the fans. It is very generous of them to open up like they do and make so much of their product available at absolute steals!

Thomas has a lot of demands om him at work, then came here to help us out, and to answer questions and promote kershaw basicly as a service to us. We appreciated him for it too. The only thing he was likely getting out of it was more promises to be kept, and the occasional PIA to have to tolerate. When is it not worth it? Only Thomas knew.

Only those of us that were here really knew all he did for us. I doubt even his superiors at Kai knew how much of a positive effect he had as a face to the corporation.

Wether he stays away, or comes back he more than earned my respect for his decency, and professionalism yet down to earth, every day demeanor.

I suspect that he's too hard on himself though, when he feels like he has made a mistake, or been less than professional. Moderating a forum can certainly try your patience, and when you feel you're responsible for people's viewpoint on an entire corporation that could really take the fun out of coming to a place like BF.

Thomas, thanks for everything you did, and do for us knifeknuts. Kai/Kershaw is lucky to have you. Hopefully we will still have that privilidige here in the future even if it's only now and then. Regards, Joe L.

I wonder if after taking a bit of a breather, we could convince Thomas to do a monthly newsletter? Maybe just letting us know the stuff that he thinks we would be interested in? Without the daily exposure to the questions, comments, etc. that can wear you down.

Sorry we missed you Bill. Olivia and I left at 1:30ish. I'm still trying to get up the courage to send you the knife for the mods we talked about at Blade West. I've been kicking around another project for you also.
