WOW!

I got to meet and talk with:

Ed Caffery
Nick Wheeler
Larry Fuegen (Got an autographed knife picture of his raffle blade!)
Michael Vagnino
Don Fogg
Harvey Dean
.... and more!!! (can't remember all the names just now)

What a show. All the makers are the kinda guys that will bend over backwards for novices. They'll share the excitement and the techniques.

This ABS crowd is really great group. And talk about politically incorrect: we said grace at the banquet!

The only problem was how many knives were gone by Sat. Collectors had picked everything over in the first 2 hours Friday. Still there was plenty to see and talk about.

Steve I'm jealous - you can mitigate that a bit by sharing some pics! Only one of that bunch I've met is Nick and I can vouch that is a treat. A more modest and well-spoken man who embodies such superhuman talent is hard to find. You're a lucky guy, hope you don't keep us in the 'dark' too long... :D

Steve, sorry that I missed you on friday, I got there when the show opened and I still missed seeing a lot of the knives. however what I saw was eye poping. I was especially impressed with the lightweight hunters that serveral makers had. I got to speak with most of the makers and they were all first class, Ya, and that Larry Feugan dagger was awesome, I donated my 10 bucks. Do you know who won it? I have never won so much as a cake.:( I can't wait till nex year. Well one thing is for sure I can see what I have to shoot for. Hope to see ya one of these days.

Steve, you lucky rascal! I have to say one thing, THEY were in good company, too.We are glad you folks had a great time and made the trip back home safely, too.

It's always been my theory that on a 3-day show, the serious buyers are there on Friday. The tire-kickers come on Saturday, and the Last-Chancers come on Sunday. Anyone agree?

I was standing at the door at 7:30am - for an opening at 11am. I was first in, and I got what I wanted!

On the other side of the table; I have not ever met a more knowledgeable or friendlier room full of visitors and customers at any show. A tremendous group of people. These are the kind of shows that make you proud to be a knifemaker. mike

The show was FANTASTIC!!!!!! I think it is one of the best in the country by far: the work being presented, the folks presenting it, and the folks coming in to visit.

Like Mike said, it's refreshing to see so many informed and genuininely interested show visitors.

Politically incorrect? Well, that would have to be Saturday night after-hours...but we can't get into that on the forum. ;)

I think most makers sold out, and fast.

Some of the highlights of my week-end were breakfast, dinner, and the loooooooong nightly talks all of us makers had together (thanks Mike Williams ;) ).

Glad to see the folks that came, and hope even more will next year!!!
Nick

I agree, great show! Glad to visit with everyone, I walked away ready to get back in the shop. Not many knives went home with makers, most went with their new owners. Like Mike said, no other show out there can compare... top notch job! Only problem I see is the fact I have very little time to get some knives made for the Arkansas show.
