Hello all,

I recently sent a few knives to Buck for their spa treatment, including one for a reblade and all I can say is I'm more than impressed with the results after getting them back. I contacted Joe Houser with some questions before sending them. He was very friendly in his communication and he responded all my questions promptly. The man is exactly as advertised in this forum and a real pleasure to deal with.

I sent them a couple of weeks ago and got them back this Saturday. This was a much better turn time than I expected, considering I sent seven knives.

I was inspired by Nutoknives' post of his returning beauties and thought I would also share the results with you all.

Here is the package as it arrived.

Needed a knife to open it and my latest Buck purchase was up to the task.

I'm really happy with this Slimline.

and now some individual pics:

My trusty old "Workman". I bought this knife when I first started working in aviation maintenance and it spent a lot of years in my toolbox.

This is a 110 that I sent in with about a quarter inch broken from the tip. It was rebladed at the spa.

This other 110 had only the tip of the blade broken off and the bolsters were beat all to hell. The blade was retipped and the entire knife restored. Impressive!

This one is a "slim" 110 with the small nail nick. It was in pretty bad shape, but now it looks much better. I thought they would have to replace the blade, but I'm glad they were able to save the original one.

This is a 111 I bought on the bay recently and had some of the aluminum rolled around the edge of one of the slabs. That problem has been corrected and sharpening scratches were removed from the blade.

This 503 was given the spa treatment and the blade was reground to correct a broken tip. I wasn't sure if it could be done, but here it is!

This 112 had some sharpening scratches on the blade and some heavy dings at the end of the bolsters. All better now:)

And a reference pic for those wondering about the scale of the "Slimline" when compared to the 110 and 114.

I hope you all enjoyed seeing these as much as I do owning them.

Joe and the crew at Buck sure know their business. Yet another reason to love and support this company.

Thanks,
cuad

I don't know if its me or the site, but all I could see was the picture with the slimline and the box.

I'm seeing them all. Maybe it's taking a while to load the pics. There is about 26 pictures altogether.

I'm seeing most of them now. My internet being stupid tonight.I've been kicked off a few sites tonight right in the middle of typing something.

I didn't realized they were that big! I just re-sized them and they should be loading quicker now.

Beautiful knife collection you have there!

Compared to some of what I've seen here, I'd consider it a good start :). I did luck out on the Slim 110 and the 111. I also bought two 510 classics from the seller I got the 111 from. One with a 510 blade and one with a 500 blade . I posted about the last one here in the forum and was told that Buck has been known to do that, so I think it's a pretty cool variation.

Since I sent these in, I've added a fingergroove 110 and a 114 with nickle silver bolsters, and earlier I had bought my son a green Slimline like my orange one, so the collection is taking shape.

I wouldn't mind adding a couple of fixed blades, but I'd like at least one of those to be from their current collection. I feel a company that backs up their products like Buck does should be supported.

Blades look great and Joe and the crew sure do some amazing work!!!!!
OK taking your lead now got some old beauties heading to the spa I will do the before and after and share when they return.

Im only about 15 Min from the Buck factory so I dont even need to send them in. I just drop them off and wait for a call. :)

I have a 110 I need to send in. Do you suggest calling them first or just sending it in? I've been to the site, but I wasn't sure what to look for in regards to the spa treatment.

Since I was sending a few knives withe different issues and it was my first time sending anything in to them, I emailed Joe Houser in advance wiht all my questions. For sending just one knife, you should be OK to simply send it with a note of what you want done. Just make sure you mail it to Joe's attention.
