Well the shop is back up and running after the fire. I had to go ahead and do some painting (I hate painting) because all the walls that are now white were black. I also went ahead and put in a couple windows so I have a way to vent the smoke out next time.

Now I've gotta do some work and finish all the stuff I forged in the hot shop. Thanks again to everyone for their help and concern and for the patients of our customers.

Hey Steve. I've got a little damscus/ironwood belt knife to post in a day or two. It's nice to get back to work. Maybe now the "shakes" will die down. I just gotta start my poster collection again. My shop was looking very similar to my bedroom when I was about 15.

Tess is definately ready. She just finished one off I'm gonna post a bit later and gotten a few more knives in the mail lately. I just wonder why nobody sends me knives.

Gee good for you getting back!

Was there an earlier thread where all this was discussed. I'd like to know what happened.
 
Glad to see you are back up J. BTW...that's too pretty to call a shop, gotta dirty it up some.

Ever figure what caused the fire?

Peter- that's why I figured I'd better get a couple pictures now, while it's clean. I even had to go through and scrub each machine down with WD-40. The shop will never look this clean again. I never got a cause for the fire but, I still think it was the welder since it looks like it started below the breaker box.

Real glad that you're back online. I guess I wasn't around when the fire happened, cause I didn't know about it.

Jeez, everything looks so clean and in order, see what you can do about that, will ya?

Dang, it's sure good to have you folks back, J.! I must have missed your original post about the fire. I am really sorry to hear of the trouble and close call! My pc was down for a while. The shop looks too good! I will ship you some dirt and trash so you will get in the feel quicker!Just throw it around in your shop, and you can keep it. I have plenty!
 
Yes you definitely have been missed, J. You'll prreciate those windows. Natural light just seems to stimulate the senses in the right way. Nice to have you back!
 
Congrats J the shop looks great! I hope the general theme of the posters doesn't change too much. That was one of my favorite parts!
Almost done with that cable piece. The ferric chloride worked great. Wow! What a difference. I'll send a pic in a few days.
