These two are the first I've made after a two years break. I'd like to know what you guys think. Should I go back on that break and stay there :D
The bowie has red stag scales and a 6 inch ATS 34 blade.
The little hunter has ivory scales and a 3 inch ATS 34 blade.

I know the photos aren't great, but i'm not good at taking knifephotos, sorry :(

Nice knives, welcome back. I too have been on a relocation hiatas and don't have the shop set up yet. Both nice designs and functional. Stay in the game and enjoy. T

P.K., its nice to know that time away didn't turn into an ending. Nice crisp grinds on the stag handle bowie. Looking forward to more pictures.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you like them.
For a while I thought I'd never start again, but who can stay away from the greatest hobby/job in the world - even my wife was happy when i grabbed the tools again :)
Andrew : those aren't grindlines - I file my blades ( I don't own a grinder that can be used )so it takes some time to make them, but it's my hobby, and I'm not in a hurry.

I do the outline with a dremel-tool and my 35$ beltgrinder that is so weak that you can keep it from running by putting your thumb on it - not recommended though. It's useless for grinding blades, and the finest belts for it are 120 grit. Knifemaking grinders cannot be bought here, you have to make them or get somebody to do it, so I've been talking to some people who can make one lately , and maybe I can buy one from them.

P.K., glad you're back! You did a fine job on those, I particularly like the bowie - but that's my natural bias. :)

I had a hiatus too, about 8 years, and my wife too was glad I took it up again. Wish I'd come back as strong as you though! Wow, nice work, can't wait to see more.

Dave
