I stink at wild edibles in my area. STINK!!!! I have harvested morels, as well as huckleberries with help. You all have inspired me to be better. I went to m local book store and purchased a guide to local edible plants here in Eastern Wa. So far all I can recognize is the Dandelion. ;) I'll get better with time and help. Thanks to you all for the inspiration. :)

You sure it's dandelion? Could be cats ear. Would need to know what kind of stock it has.

If you're really interested there's a guy in the Portland area who does tours. Google wild food adventures. Guy's a little eccentric but really know his stuff.

I am no expert but think the best way to learn about wild edibles is to take them one at a time. Become familiar with each slowly at first so there is no way mistakes can be made. Once the ID is beyond debate nibble on a little to see how it will react. Don’t try to do this with multiple edibles at the same time as I think this requires a focused mind to avoid look-a-likes

Best of luck.
