What kind of back order time have some of you been looking at?

I ordered through a dealer a computer generated graphic, which had to be back ordered, so the order would have been received by CRK's on 10-02-06.

This week would make it week #6.

Thanks,
Keith

It's killing me!

This coming Monday will be the start of week number 9 and still no shipping confirmation thats its ready and on the way.

Should I wait or cancel my order and order from a dealer who already has one in stock? Seems like its taking a long time for what I ordered  Is this normal?

You have some patience Kdarmy! If I don't get a delivery confirmation within a week, I'll cancel and find another vendor that has it in stock. Unless you *don't really* need it right away, hang in there. But for me, it is not a matter of *needing* it but *wanting* it that kills my patience.

Well at the time I ordered it, it did need to be back ordered (a large Native American)...at that time I was told 4-6 weeks.

Called dealer last week and was told it should be in "any day now"....just seems to me that its been too long, thats why I'm posting here to get feedback from others who have had to wait and if this is normal.

Why don't you call Heather at CRK and find out what the backlog situation is? BTW, I'm curious to know which CGG you ordered?

Large Native American.

I think I will try calling tomorrow, just hate to bother them.

I hope you called them today. They are such nice people there. They are there to answer phone inquires and another question wouldn't hurt. Good luck and all the best.

Pretty knife for sure.

Next time try truenorthknives before you backorder.

I believe I got my answer.

I called CRK yesterday(11-28-06) and spoke to Shawn. Told him who the dealer I ordered through was and asked if it was indeed in process. He said that it was not.

It was his belief that the dealer probably thought that they were on a automatic order or some such. I guess they may be true to some degree because he said they would have had some going out to them at some point in time but he said he couldnt even give me a date of when that would have been.

Because they are now aware of the problem he said they bumped a few into production and they will send at least mine out to them in about 3 wks. So at this point I will still wait, only because I have it now from a reliable source of its status.

Total time if I'm lucky will be 12 weeks from the time I first placed order through dealer.

If I ordered it today through CRK from scratch, he said would be 4-6wks....1\2 the time of when I orignally ordered mine.

Next time I will go through CRK directly or for sure a different dealer, one who follows up on their own orders.

I am not posting the dealer/store I used as I believe their intentions are good, just not the best dealer I could have used, I wont use them again anyway

Kdarmy

I tried to send you 2 emails that bounced back. Send me an email if you could.

Edit to add, I will be able to check email in the AM tomorrow then will be out till later Friday.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation.

But the good news is you will have a very nice knife.

If it was me, I'd confirm I can still get one from someone else, then I'd cancel the order from the dealer that hosed ya. Then I'd out the dealer. But then again I can be kinda vindictive on occasion. :o

Well after almost 12 weeks to the day from the date I ordered it, I finally have a tracking number for UPS that shows my new Native American is to arrive tomorrow. :D

Lesson after the long delay for me anyway is... next time I WILL NOT order any knife from a dealer unless it is in stock and ready to ship.

Nice start to the holiday...off work for the next 5 days and I start it with a new Sebenza:D
