Well Moose, your photos inspired me to put the Grivory back on my BK-2. I decided though to put the stainless steel hardware I polished on it though.

Now with the Grivory back on, The sheath is too snug. It fit great with the Micarta grips I had reshaped, but is too snug for my liking. So, a few moments with the heat gun and bingo, fits like a charm. Comes out nicely and is still secure.

I put the knife in to the point the sheath was spread out as far as it would go.

I actually held with my hand, but without a third arm, taking a picture would be impossible.

Now with knife fully seated.

Finished product, with backup sheath below in case I
got a little too aggressive with the heat.

I tried the same technique with the sheath. It seemed great at the time and shortly after it cooled, but a day later, it seemed just as tight as before. Let me know how yours worked out or if it has gone back to being as tight as before.

I also felt mine was a little snug - instead of the heat gun, I removed the rivet nearest the bottom of the blade. This is the one directly above the screw on Tag's last picture. Now it is about perfect and I think this also keeps the sheath from dulling the edge. (Or I have done a better job paying attention and riding the spine on the way in...)

Bingo. What a great idea. The heated sheath stayed in position and did not tighten, but seeing as how I had an extra sheath from my "Cage Match" knife, I tried your idea. Here is the result. Works like a charm.

Thanks
That is the best idea yet.
Whats the best way to remove rivet.

I used a brand new 3/8" drill bit. I just let it slowly wear away the smaller side of the tube until it would just pull through. I used finger pressure on the back side to keep the tube from spinning.
