I've been a BCCI member since 2008 and a life member since 2009. I jumped in collecting with both feet and started displaying rare, odd 1 of 1 and prototype 112's at the Blade show in Atlanta and later on at the Gator show here in Florida. It was so much fun and I really had a nice collection that drew some attention. Things were great till 2013 2014 and then my health stated to go downhill (hip heart ) and it was hard to walk. Financial issues kept me from acquiring new knives and I even let a few of my very special 112's go.But even this very minute I have 6 or 7 Bucks on my desk lol ! I decided to give Bucks for Christmas this year and as I was looking for them I seen a listing for the copper 112 from the BCCI. .I was stunned I didn't even know it had been made! This was a shock to me. So after I had a little talk to myself I decided to get back in to active collecting and to display at BCCI at Atlanta next year. I wonder how many collectors are like me, one's who were real enthusiasts and active then left the hobby for a few years? But I'm back now and I have a whole lot of catching up to do! It was that copper 112 and it's at the top of my list of rare odd 112's to find. .

We both had some health issues about the same time. Sounds like those problems may be behind you now. Mine are behind me. Good to see you back on the forum again.

My collecting story is a little different than yours. I was an accumulator of knives for quite a while, but have since focused on just the vintage 110s and the 50th Anniversary 110s.
My vintage collection has no holes in it from the beginning through the 1980s. I improve those if I find any better, but that is hard to do because the ones I have are excellent examples of each version and variation.

The thing that has helped me enjoy my collection better is selling off any that don't fit my collecting goals and any duplicates I have.
Still have a ways to go, but my collection is becoming more manageable all the time.

When is your brother going to get back here? :)

Bucksway & Stumps, both of you are great gentlemen. Thank you for being a Buck Collector member and displaying your collection at shows. You're good representatives of the club. I hope your health continues to improve and allows you to remain active in knife collecting. Best wishes, DM

Welcome back. I'm glad your health has improved. I think it's great many here know each other so well and many have met in person. I clearly do not travel enough. I would like to see a show were BCCI has a display. I hope for a trip to the factory too. I laughed when you mentioned having 6-7 Bucks on your desk. Same here. Sometimes more.

One good way to tour the Buck factory and meet a bunch of Buck nuts is to sign up for the Buck Collector's Club 25th Reunion in Post Falls, ID from 7/24/2018-7/27/2018. Many participants bring collections to show, and Buck has a Factory Collection.

That's a good idea and there is plenty of time to save money for the trip and knives!

Since I'm in Florida Atlanta is not to far but Post Falls is a long, long way and would be a major commetment in funds and time. I would really like to go if for no other reason than to meet other BCCI members and collectors. Buck has always treated Buck collectors very well and has supported the BCCI from the start. Dave told me the 20th anniversary celebration was FANTASTIC. I know that I'll be to the Blade show and if the chance comes to go to 25th shindig I'll take it.

My memory is just as good as it used to be, but it's not as long. I went to the 20th and the 25th, so I guess the next one is the 30th. Post Falls, ID is accessible by AMTRAK (Empire Builder) which is a fun trip. The motel we stay at is in Spokane, WA a major stop on the route. They split the west bound train in half there. 1/2 goes to Seattle, and 1/2 goes to Portland.

Your way to Post Falls respective Spokane from Florida is a long way. Yes. But the long, long way was from Germany to the last two BCCI anniversary celebrations. And when I make the trip the third time I would like to see you there. Ok, it would be a pleasure to travel to Florida and spend some days in Florida after the big come together. But I think it is easier to meet in Idaho. Agreed?

Why Haebbie I agree with that! I'm putting it on my dance card and hope it will happen. We can't shoot the big guns there tho. .I'll have one or two in the trunk just in case!
