After a bit of practice on my lathe, I decided it was time to take a trip down memory lane and make the knife I wanted 30 years ago.

I was 10 year old in 1985, so films like First Blood, First Blood Part II, Commando and Predator all had a huge influence on my love of knives.

So...here's my take on an 80's favourite.

Blade is 9" of 0-1. 5" 304 stainless handle with aluminium cap complete with BCB button compass for those times when you're on the run from Teasle's posse and the National Guard. :D

For anyone interested, I've also done a WIP thread here https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/the-hollow-handle-knife-thread.1132950/page-139

Thanks for looking.

Ian.

neato! That's the burliest looking sheath I think I've ever seen

You must be a cool guy. It looks great!

I take it that it is for display only because of the 304 steel.

Man, you did an extra-fine job on that! Jimmy and Sylvester would be proud!!!

Damn near had a flash back seeing your knife.

Great rendition.

Thank you all for your comments.

Next job is to take it out and see how it performs.

Cheers,

Ian.

Thank you.

I've started turning another handle and cap already. I'm also experimenting with etchant resistant tape and steel blackening methods.

You could say I'm on a 'Mission'.;)

I had to Google Aqua Net...never heard of it over here, but we certainly had and equivalent. Stallone's partially to blame for all that big hair business I reckon.

Sadly, my hair has gone from 'Jackson 5' to 'Kojak' in the past 30 years.

I could dress up in spandex and do a testing video, but I'm worried the sight of me wearing anything other than 'XXL and baggy' might break the entire internet.

At the very least you'd need to bleach your eyes.

Thanks.:D

With a Duran Duran soundtrack...........:D
