I just bring this up because I've had this knife for a month or so and wanted to say a few things about it.

I have the Large model with the green/black G-10 handles. What I have found out is that the sculpted handle is extremely comfortable. It is rounded enough that you get your hand touching all points The back spacer is also sculpted and works together with the handles to just give you a great grip.

Even though the blade is only 3.36" the whole knife just seems/feels larger than you would expect. The D2 really takes a fine edge and held it through the cardbox boxes I was cutting to test it with. Also want to mention that the back of this blade maintains it's thickness ( 1/8" ) all the way out to the last 1/4" or less. This in turn makes the blade appear to be thicker than it actually is, at least it does to me. I also love the heft it has, but that is no surprise as I constantly complain about knives being too lite for me.

All in all this knife has been a very pleasant surprise for me. I am usually carrying a 4" bladed, or longer, knife, but of late it has been a ~3.5" blade.

At any rate, the large Bone Collector will make a great edc tool as well as it being a hunting knife.

I agree on all points.
I had a large model for a while, and sold it to fund some other stuff. I ended up pining away for it and regretting the sale. Some time went by and I got the mini version thinking it might fill the void. It's a great EDC knife in its own right, but there was still a void left by the large model. So, I finally got around to ordering one a couple of weeks ago.
I'm really glad to have the large Bone Collector folder back in my life again. It really screams "use me to cut stuff!"

I'm right there with ya cutter and agree on everything.

The Bone Collector is a home run in my opinion, one of my all-time favorites. The thing just feels so darned solid and capable. It feels like your holding a knife that can handle any reasonable--or mildly unreasonable--task you can throw at it. The thing just instills confidence.

Best,

I have had mine for almost 2 weeks now and agree on your points. Will post a review much later though as I first want to take the knife to the farm and use it for what I bought it for.

Thanks brother,

Now I know I want one.

DOC! You know you have to get one, so go ahead and place that order...NOW, RIGHT NOW!!!:)

Thanks for the responses guy's. What Heekma said; "feels so darned solid and capable."

That's a solid statement!:thumbup::D

I have a 15020 (D2 First prod) and I took a med/light grit finger nail file and smoothed out the corners and all ridges. There is one area near the center torx screw that was a little sharp. I also left off the clip for now.

This is the knife I use to practice my open and close technique and the weight of the handle helps my hand dexterity for my older fingers.

Very sharp.

I blasphemed the infamous 950 Rift - and did so on the BM forums. It was because of my large two-tone Bone Collector, which I had owned for over a month when I added the 950 Rift to my collection last month. To be blunt, the 15020-1 B.C. is a heck of an improvement over the Rift - in my opinion - and as a general purpose EDC! It's sculpted grip fits my hand better - the upramped jimping is 'just right', too - as is the D2 vs Rift's 154CM. I even like the thumbhole... a real shocker for me. My only negative for the B.C. is that skull on the blade - the B.C. logo. I can live with that. Oh, and in my 'lobster trap' knife collection, that 950 has a home, too. I like it - but that B.C. is a hard act to follow. Oddly, the B.C. is cheaper, too...

Strange I totally disagree, IMO the 950 rift is by far the better one :D
