I sold all my Sebenzas (large 21, large 21 tanto, small 21, small regular) when I went crazy for Hinderers and some customs. I like to carry 2 knives; a large hard-use knife and a small "public" knife. But after carrying some small folders that were just too fancy and expensive for me to use I decided to buy a small sebenza. Picked this up Saturday from Portlandreign81 and I am just head over heels in love with this knife. It's good to have a Sebenza again!!!

great catch. looking to pick up a micarta seb down the line. Either wait for a Micarta 25, or just go for a large micarta 21.

Curious how one would go about sharpening between the serrations  Welcome back to CRK:thumbup:

Tom Veff has a cylindrical tool that is made for serrations. He lives nearby so I will get some lessons from him!

I hear ya and agree 100%.............I once had a Hinderer Addiction. Since i only really had CRK, I sold some of them off to buy some Hinderers. I was never without a sebenza, but I did sell or trade Sebenzas, One Piece Knives, Mnandi to get Hinderer's. I have owned 15 Hinderers to date, but only have two. A xm18 3.5" and a xm24. The xm24 may get sold in the end, but I will keep the user xm18. You have no idea how much I regret selling or trading even ONE of my CRK for a Hinderer. Hinderers are nice, but they are nowhere near a sebenza or umnumzaan. I have owned 79 CRK to date and am contemplating #80. I have never been without a CRK, but I know the feeling of selling some off to try another brand, ony to realize that you already had perfection in your hand.

Welcome back to CRK Maprik! I had a short stint with an XM-18, but the call of the 25 won out.

I still love my XMs but I've learned that there is still a definite roll for the small Seb and Mnandis in my EDC rotation! CRKs are just as exceptional as Hinderers just in a different style that to me is equal. I'd be nervous about possibly snapping the blade tip of a large Seb that I do not fear with my Spanto! But quality wise they are equals. Just gotta have the right tool for the job which is why I carry both!

I am fairly certain nobody will every question your love for Hinderers:) I agree, the XM is every bit as quality as the Sebenza, just different. If I had unlimited funds to spend on knives, I would still have my XM. But due to my current situation (read: my wife has us in saving mode), I made the decision to let that XM go for some cash and a 25. An interesting thing happened over the weekend however, I got a ZT0550 in a trade and find that it fills that niche that my XM previously filled very well. I think I got a perfect example of the ZT, it is rock solid, 35-40% lockup with perfect centering and smooth as glass. It's nice to know that I have that niche filled with something in my budget. Even though I know the sebenza would handle almost anything I would throw at it, prying isn't something I would do with it. I wouldn't hesitate prying (if absolutely necessary) with the $150 ZT however.

Maprik, any ideas where to find those lanyards with the spacers on them? Seems they've gone scarce!

That's a great question! I have no idea. I'm about a week into carrying the seb w/ the lanyard and kind of like it (especially when combo'd with the slip case. So I started looking around at lanyards and noticed there are fewer options than I recall.

Agreed! And they are simple so I think I should be able to sharpen it myself.

I've had a couple pass through Casa de Lone_Wolfe, and was impressed with how unbotrusive and well done the serrations were.

Good to see you back !

On a side note, I've long wondered who that was in your Avatar. I found out recently when my newspaper ran a story about her. She was raised near here. Looked for the movie on Netflix, but its not streaming.

Oh Kickass is a great movie! Enjoy. Personally Ive never been a fan of the serrated Sebenza. I just love that plain hollow ground blade soooooooooo much. Seems cruel to interrupt the beautiful edge. I'd really like to see a serrated Strider one day. Welcome back to the Sebenza club Maprik!

I have the exact knife, serrations and all in my edc rotation, I carry it when I know I may be in meetings with sheeple as I typically prefer a larger blade, when I go small that is my goto...nice knife
