Some forumites may be familiar with my eclectic tastes in cutlery.

I just acquired a couple of blades, and after a comedy of the PO losing and then finding my MO after a month, I took possession just last week.

Made by Scott VanArsdale of Wasicun Knives in Otego, NY;

Green Rainbow Obsidian with a Vermont Marble grip, blade length is approx 6"

And;

Gold FiberOptic glass with a Lignum Vitae grip, blade length also approx 6"

Scott is an extremely talented knapper, it can take up to a year to complete a blade.

They are sharp, and have a heft in the hand that almost provides a connection to our blade wielding ancestors of long ago.

Hmmmmm, I have this big chunk of Lassen Obsidian sitting around doing nothing...

Just so cool...

(I said my interests were varied...)

Just wanted to share.

I have been ruminating on just the right combination of funk and functional for sheaths.

Something is in the works for sure...

The uniformity of the knaps on all of those are unbelievable. That kind of skill is insane.
