back-up compass

I saw this little compass from TAD gear.
Do you have an experience with these back-up compas ?
Is it accurate in the times ?
Is it very strong when we are chopping,... ?
 
I am pretty sure TAD did a lot of r &d on those. I think I am going to get one for my Project 1. The compass and whistle combo seem to be very well thought out.
