This is my first time showing a custom blade on this site (anywhere in cyberspace actually).

It's a back up knife for personal carry. I made one similar, which I gave to a buddy when he was worried about being recalled to Iraq after the big announcement of troop build ups.

I made it from a 1/4" thick bastard file I picked up at a thrift store for a quarter.

  • The blade is a tad over 2".
  • Edge quenched and double tempered
  • Finish: Double blueing process to yield mottled look.
  • I've only done an intial sharpening, however it's obvious this sucker will be sharp as heck. Will let you know after I've stoned it on my Arkansas block.

Enjoy!

Looks very nice and useful.

Thanks,

Given the fact that you have 18k+ posts, I'll take that as a real complement...

Very nice work, congratulations and thanks for sharing. This is a knife I could use as a backup myself... ;)

So how did the edge turn out?

And is that a Tibetan prayer flag beneath your knife?

Ah, thanks for reminding me.

Razor sharp. I'm very happy. Actually, its so sharp that I might dull it a bit after I finish the sheath. Last I want to do is cut myself when drawing it. Currently, i've cut the leather for a cross draw holster.

Yes, those are real tibetan prayer flags under a chinese yuan bill. Brought them back from my last "excursion."

Take care everyone!
