Hello all. I’ve had a BK-16 for quite some time and it’s one of my favorite woods knives. Had a BK2 in the past and just didn’t appreciate it’s abilities so I sold it. I’ve missed it ever since so I found a deal on one and it arrived yesterday.

Looking for ideas to modify the existing BK2 sheath as funds are a bit tight now. I’m looking to stiffen up the belt loop so that the knife/sheath won’t just flop over horizontal if the snap is undone. I’m sure down the road I’ll upgrade the sheath but I want to focus on the knife first.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

I too like the factory scales. The Ultramid material is nearly indestructible. GG&G out of Arizona stippled the scales for me when I ordered the knife attaching them with SS nuts and bolts for a $20 adder. The stippling affords good traction with no hot spots.
Did this knife ever get used? :D

That’s sharp. I’ve always stippled mine with a wood burner. It works but isn’t nearly as pretty. That sheath is very sharp as well.

Awesome looking scales!

BRab, very solid of you to make your kind offer to CShepard.
PM/DM me your email address as I would like to hire you to make a couple Kydex sheaths for me.

I’m excited, the sheath that BRab was so kind to make may arrive today. Can’t wait to throw it on the belt and put this beast to work.

Still have some modifications I want to do to the knife - stipple the handle, strip the finish on the blade portion, add a pot notch, and square part of the spine.
