Greetings,
In 1992, I purchased my first Spyderco. It was a fully serrated Endura. It ended up with a friend whom I didn't bother to get it back from, seeing that I had "other" knives.
I've purchased other Spydercos back then; another Endura partially serrated, which I gave to my brother because I became disinterested in it rather quickly.
On impulse, I bought the Catcherman. IMO one of the most wicked looking knives after the Civilian. It sits in a cigarbox with other knives only to be brandished once in a while against invisible attackers and a full length mirror. ( you know you do it!)
Next entered a pre-98 fully serrated Delica. I basically carried it as a secondary S#%t knife to my "other" knives. You know what I mean? That knife you used so you didn't mess up your other knives. I didn't even like it, but in hindsite it was very useful and I still carry it.
I became sold on Benchmades. Damn! At one point, I wish I owned them all. They all(CQC7,Tsunami,Leopard,AFO) ended up in the cigar box except for the Talon which was lost, but already had a wornout linerlock and developed blade-play. ugh! So no loss there.
My most expensive knife ever, the AFO has very slight blade play, but blade play all the same. I cannot send it in for warranty work being that I'm not a "qualified" buyer
Hmmph! But that shouldn't be the case anyway,
IMO it's just poor quality control backed by a one-way warranty. In other words, "IT'S CRAPPPPP!"
From reading posts on the forum, I've made my most wisest and most prolific purchase of knives. A Military, a Moran, an Edgeworks Moran Slipsheath,(2)Endura-98 (plain and serrated) and the tried and true Delica-98's (plain and serrated).
They were all just perfect out of the box. And they couldn't be any sharpe and they all didn't cost me an "Arm and or a leg". I would also like to compliment Spyderco on their customer service department. I've heard/read a lot of good things about your company.
Well anyways, sorry for straying, but now I'm back for good. What was once ugly is now beauty in my eyes. Now I wish I owned all the Spydercos including the Kitchen Line. With your more than fair pricing, eventually I just might achieve that too.
Thanks for producing high quality knives for everyone to use and enjoy.
