Went backcountry camping with my girlfriend for 4 days in Algonquin park, we went through Canoe lake, portaged into Joe lake, paddled through Joe into Tepee lake, and then up the little oxtongue river and into little doe lake. about 3.5-4 hours of paddling. I took my BK9, BK15, and BK14 with me, along with a leatherman wave, and my collapsible buck saw.
Here I am at the first portage into Joe lake.

Paddling through Joe lake heading toward tepee lake.

Little Oxtongue River

found a nice secluded campsite in an empty bay on Little Doe Lake, and started to make camp.

we started collecting firewood, we can't cut anything alive, but there is lots of fallen trees that are great as long as you have the right tools.

Tent set up

Tarp set up to keep the wood dry, it was later lowered and staked down at the back as it was tied too high.

we went back into the woods to look for a suitable spot to hang the food bag, and we found this massive tree. it had many parts that were wider that other trees trunks in the area.

the next morning I did a little bit of fishing off the shore, I wasn't expecting to catch much, but I was hoping for something better than this.

Some breakfast, coffee crisp hot chocolate, cereal, and a banana chocolate chip muffin.

we decided we would set up a second tarp for ourselves in case it rained, so we didn't have to retreat to the tent.

of course it didn't take long to be thankful we did.

After it died down I decided to put my bk9 to work again, splitting some of the big pieces of wood we had collected.

The day cleared up, and thankfully that was the only rain we had the rest of our trip.

The next day It was still a bit wet out so I decided to break down the remaining large pieces of wood we had, I beat my bk9 like a rented mule, and it didn't even flinch.

On our last morning we had a beautiful sunrise as we broke camp and ate breakfast.

we had nice calm water to paddle out on, I wasn't expecting this picture, hence the lack of a smile lol.
