Off Topic so I`ll keep it breif.
There is a bill before the Senate Finance Committee right now (SB-2099) that would require you to list ALL firearms that you own on your 1040 tax form for 2009. It might include an annual $50 tax per firearm, and require fingerprinting.
Since it is an ammendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986, it doesn`t require a vote on the floor of the Senate. The Finance Comitee can pass this into law by themselves. The full text of the bill can be seen at www.senate.gov look for SB-2099.
Write, call, fax, e-mail whatever, but make your voice heard on this. And get your friends to do the same. This is nothing but a national gun registration disguised as a tax.
