Did anyone hear about this? a friend of mine sent a Sebenza in for service and they originally told him 2 weeks well its about 3 weeks or so and he called and was told the person in shipping I believe Sean was bit by a spider and to bear with them they are backlogged? So far he is not happy loves the knives but he is kind of bummed about the service.

It is a small operation and I imagine the loss of anyone for any time at all slows down operations in that area.

Thats what I kind of figured but would think someone else should be able to ship out the knife. Hope they dont depend on 1 person but sounds like they do.

We apologize for the delay -- we know that it's a tough wait to have your knife in the shop, and it doesn't help when we struggle to meet our commitments. Indeed, Sean was bitten by a spider. Sean does much more than shipping -- he's an integral part of production and packaging, the QA process, publishing, and customer service. (With a shop as small as ours -- we all wear many hats!) The spider bite incident sent Sean to the hospital for a several days, and he's home recuperating now. Usually, we can hop along with one person out sick, but since Anne and Chris have been out of the country for the last 4 weeks (for a much needed vacation!), we're stretched extremely thin right now.

We should be back up to full strength in a week, as the Reeves return to the U.S. and Sean returns to work.

Thanks for hanging in with us!

Best regards,

Dave

Thanks for the reply I will pass the info along to my buddy. Must have been a nasty spider. Hope he gets well soon.

Ditto. Speedy recovery and thoughts and prayers for you all.

Sounds like a spider you don't want to mess with.

I spoke to Sean (aka Spider Man) today.

He is still is pain and his leg is badly swollen but he is toughing it out and back at work.

Take care, Neil

I am also awaiting the return of my knife. However, at least there is an interesting story behind the delay. Any word on what kind of Spider?

That was my knife my friend shooter was talking about. They had it for 4 weeks. What I didn't realize was the shortage of staff they had. When I called Mon. 7/2 I was told about Sean's spider episode. To my surprise my knife was waiting for me when I got home from work today. They had expedited it to me. Work done to it was excellent, they had sharpened it and put a new lanyard on it. Class operation PERIOD:thumbup: . This is the reason they will have my business for the unforseeable future.
Thanks again Heather,Sean and staff for customer service that equals the quality of your knives. Hope you feel better Sean.

Best regards,
Matt S.
