Haven't posted anything in a while so here's a new one. Took a backpacking trip to Yosemite and, of course, had to make a knife for it.

4" blade

S30V

8" hollow ground

Wenge

Hi-tech Copper Alloy handle inserts to reduce weight and increase grip (You can find them in the plumbing section of the hardware store).

Good looking knife Steve.

(You can find them in the plumbing section of the hardware store).

Been using them for years but I call them "attachment points"
Like the holes on an ice ax :D

Looking good Steve. Nice to see some of your stuff again. Great knife and man, what a view!

Very nice! I like the copper on that one and the overall look.

"You can find them in the plumbing section of the hardware store" Hey, that's where I get my hi-speed, low-drag stainless steel tubing. :D

Steve, that is a great little knife. You made a B&T not too very long ago using tubing on it too. I still have that one on the computer hoping someday to make one (with your blessings, of course).

Pretty handy looking knife! I haven't been to Yo since I was 4 but still remember it quite well. Believe I caught the world's smallest fish in the world's shallowist lake when we went. Do they still have the bear problem?

And all this time I thought you were hard at work clearin out those back orders. ;) Nice work as usual Steve. I really like the guard.

Yes, VERY nice, Steve. You put it to good use, I am sure. Dang, you put a lot into field testing a blade. Nice pics, too. Thumbs up to you, fella.

Thanks guys,

It was a 'just for fun' knife (in the middle of the orders, just had to)... machine finish and all.

Yes they still have a big bear problem. It was only a 2 night thing, but a bear was in and around the camp both nights. Started getting into my friends pack, before we chased it off. Fortunately the camp we were in had bear boxes for your food. 1/8" steel. Still a great time in the woods. .... boy did I need it too.
