A couple of weeks ago I took a 4 day trip backpacking down the beach on the coast of Washington State. Good times. My BK9 was used for everything from hacking trails to food prep. My BK16 was the champ of the trip though. Fell in love with it's size/balance/bushcraft/food prep abilities.
Before we left for the 2hr drive to the trailhead I went to feed a friends horse and the the deer were all glued to the salt lick. Kinda crapy iPone pic but you get the idea.
took my 16. love this knife. never really could get into the grip color. I need to make some orange scales.
japanese tsunami garbage is visible on the beach (orange float). Mostly what I found was bottles and food trash. Small stuff. Some guy hiked by me one day wish a massive float lashed to his back. Seemed quite a lot of effort for a plastic piece of junk that may or may not be radioactive!
I built a makeshift tarp shelter to create some shade on the beach. Got fried by the sun the first day. Not my best tarp I ever built but pretty good for 15min.

bacon!
dead seal.
Trail was very muddy. Never seen it dry so I just hike in my chocos.
This tree was massive. Check out the BK9 in bottom left corner for scale reference. Big...
Stopped by this waterfall on the way home. Its not a place that the public is suppose to go because 50% of the water is diverted for hydro power at the top of the falls. Randomly though the flow can increase and wash you away if your not careful. Probably about 150' drop.
