Hi guys, Just grabbed up a M390 para2 and am debating getting a ti backspacer. Anyone have any feed back on backspacers?
Do thy add more grip?
noticeable weight? Good/bad
Do they collect dirt?
worth the $?
Cheers,
Steve

I don't have any ti backspacers installed, though I have had an anodized ti backspacer and moved it along to someone else primarily because I know the anodization would likely eventually wear off giving it an uneven look . That said, I do have both a desert ironwood and g10 backspacer installed on two PM2s and a cf backspacer on my CRK Insingo. I like them.

Do they add more grip? Maybe they marginally do. My Insingo is the only one of the three with smooth ti scales. I would say the backspacer helps a little. The two PM2 have the anso style grip texture (both aftermarket scales) and it is harder to tell if the backspacers add any grip on those. Again, they probably do, but it is neither noticeable nor needed.

Weight? I do not really notice. YMMV.

They do not collect dirt in my experience. They are just an added little something to make yours different than the masses in a nice way that may add a slightly better grip.

As far as the cost goes, that's strictly personal preference. I like them, but I only have two on my PM2s and I have a few others with no backspacer on them and like them equally.

cool, I think Im going to go ahead and try it out, if i don't like it I can always move it on out. I also have green micarta scales and a ti low pocket clip. cant wait till I get it all together, this will replace my old S30V version i sold (and regretted) a few weeks ago.

I have one that Boomer made for me awhile back.
Red G10... Low pro gear.
For cleaning..Its the same as without. I use a pipe brush.

Feel... Minor... I do not recommend getting a tall backspacer because it caused hot spots on my hand.

For material... Your preference..
I chose G10 because of color and cost.

For Ti clips.... Casey clips.

Main issue with adding a backspacer to PM2 is prying the OEM handles off the knife from around the lanyard hole tube-- the tube is press fit into the g10. When I've reinstalled the lanyard tube on a couple, it rattled around in the handles. Maybe your backspacer will hold it more firmly after the mods than what I've experienced.

not an issue for BOOMERs
