I am on detail for a long time and not near my shop so I have no calipers. Can anyone tell me the width of the Emerson Super Commander back spacer? I want to replace it with the style found on the Kershaw/Emerson auto Commander (round metal ferrules) so that it is easier to clean and maintain.

Any help appreciated.

you could post it in the emerson subforum, lots of expertise there

.190 thickness is what you want for the Emersons. Most all the blades are .123 to .126 thickness because of variances in the sheets from manufacturers. I imagine its possible that some could be sub .123 and up to .130 but I've not seen any this far and wide for variance from EKI.

A spacer anywhere from .185 to .190 should be more than fine in the EKI knives though. Chances are that the one in there now is close to that. If the blade is .125 thick you have two washers each .030 thick on either side of it so when you add all that together thats what you need plus or minus .005 in the spacer or stand offs for the rear.
