Here's something for you backwoods guys that like the old school look and forge markings... everyone else LOOK AWAY! :D

This knife started in my shop as a blank I forged to demostrate to Ray Laconico how a knife was forged. I made a few blanks and Ray ground them out and we sold them as co-lab knives. Ray got distracted building folders so this blank sat in his shop for months, and then came back to mine for a while. I finally finished it today...

Knife started as .250 1095 stock and was forged. Then I flat ground it some to help clean up the blade enough to heat treat. I then finished the knife by convex grinding to zero. It's sharp.

Osage orange finished out the handles and mustard and cold blueing was used for the finish. Knife is 14 3/4 inches long with 9 inches from plunge line to tip.....

$225.00 in the USA.... shipping is 12.00 and a sheath can be made for this knife for 30.00

If you live in Canada, I don't mind trying to ship to you but shipping is more than double on the last knife I shipped.

oh my.. that is a beauty... nice work Mark... i wish i had the scratch..:o

I like everything about it.

The pin pattern is really cool, as is the transition between the blue and the polished edge.

I made a sheath for this knife. I didn't have enough osage but I found some maple. I was going to stain it and try to get it close to the same color, but after seeing the grain in this maple, I just used danish oil to keep a more natural look.

Thanks for all the comments. As to retention, I think I am going to make a leather piece for the top that will hole the blade in by friction. Or I could build a different style frog and put a strap on that ....

Can someone email a pic of this. I can't view it on my blacberry. I'm get the red X

somebody make me a reasonable offer on this knife... or a partial trade. I do like nice slipjoints ( probably shouldn't have admitted to that!)...
