Earlier this year, I asked Bill to make a blade for me that I could abuse around the yard and in the woods. This blade was not intended for bush craft chores, but earlier today, I took it out to do a few things on my property, and I ended up making a few wood curls for a coffee can fire.

I will quickly admit that I suck at trying to make fuzz sticks, but this blade really made it easy to create super thin curlies. I just can't say enough about Bill's craftsmanship. I've beat the holy crap out of this blade, and it continues to beg for more :D

Here are a few pics:

Oh,fuzz stick.
I thought you were talking about a billy club.

Dig that knife!
I see you like the big butts too. :D

A good knife makes fuzz sticks easy to do.

Nice Marc,I think he has used that knife on everything in arms reach to cut! Lmao

Usually don't go for big butts, myself...but it's past time for BA to do some more of these knives.

R/W, isn't this knife one that you designed yourself & had BA make for you ??? Great looking design, and myself usually not being a fan of big butts along with G-Man, that knife looks like it is really comfortable no matter what cutting chore you would do with it.
And on a side note, my first "fuzz stick" started out with a limb about the size of a Louisville slugger, and I ended up with a pencil size stick of fuzzies, and 6 pounds of sawdust & wood chips at my feet . . . :)
Be safe.

Yes, that's correct Thank you for the comments. My hands pretty much stay in pain, so I noticed a bigger butt felt better in my hands....so to speak..:D This handle actually allows the knife to do most of the work (or at least that's how it feels to me), which decreases the pain in my hands since I'm not battling with a smaller handle. Also, I noticed last winter that when I was doing chores in my yard, I had trouble extracting my smaller handled blades from the sheath (especially while wearing gloves), so this was the reason for the big butt handle.

Since you are the first member of the BackwoodsCustomsBigButtClub, I guess you better make the rules....but JUST1MOR & I wanta join.

I'd like for my next BA custom to have a Big Butt.

And some hamon, dammmit.....I don't own any hamon....yet.

A Big Butt Snub Nose, like his recent Fiddleback collab knife....

And just let BA pick the wood.

In fact,if BA can make it in early Feb.2012, giving my budget a little recovery time, then consider this a knife pre-order!

~Gnarly :devilish:

For the upcoming year, I'm gonna talk Bill into doing a run of the new Backwoods Big "ASS" Butt blade (Akers Super Size).....:p:D

Been over in the Snub Nose section, tryin' to convince BA I want one with a Big Butt.

Looks like Andy from Fiddeback is doing the handles....Not sure of materials....definitely don't want micarta....may hafta wait for a later run....dunno yet.
