Got orders from the wife to clear out the weeds around the house so we can begin some landscaping/flower planting. Well, I don't even need an excuse to get out the blades for some play time, but these landscaping orders called for a knife. Now, I'm sure I could have used the appropriate tools, but honestly, it would have been boring and not near as fun as tearin' crap up with a knife...:D

FYI, I was digging, cutting, slicing, and tearin' up roots and thick branches all around the house. On numerous occasions, I was hitting rocks with the edge of the blade. After doing the work, the blade was covered in dirt and mud, but once it was cleaned up, it still sliced through paper. There were a couple small rough spots near the tip where I had scraped rocks several times, but a few passes on a fine stone and a strop brought it back to criminally sharp once again!

Here are just a few pics:

This little critter got too close to the "convicious" convex:

We have beat the living hell out of that knife and it still begs for more!!

Thats cool...I really like the looks of that knife. What was the rodent? Looks like a shrew? I had one of them get in my house under the door (fixed that problem) a few summers ago and the cats cornered it in the entryway under my toolbox. The darn thing was so loud that it woke me up with its screeching.

OK Marc, it's a survival Kephart,(& an awesome blade BTW)so did you eat the mole?:barf: ;)

R/W, I am glad to see I am not the only one who takes on the wive's "honeydo" list & all the ideas she has, & will find at least 3-4 reasons why I need to have some knives to help me to the job . . . . ;)
Looks like that blade would be right at home either in the yard or around a campsite or hiking trail.
Thanks for posting the pics for us to see.
Be safe.
