I've never seen "Backwoodsman" magazine before, so thanks to this forum, I picked up the latest issue at my local book store.

Nothing against the new electronic reading devices, but for myself, I still enjoy sitting down with my favorite beer or wine and actually turning the pages of a book or magazine.

By the way John, do you advertise in any other periodicals?

Hey Warrior! I don't think there is a better magazine anywhere, that I have run into anyway! It's the best hands down. It's the only magazine that I read cover to cover every two months. I have to actually pace myself, so that I don't run out of reading before the next one is due. There are even some of them that I go back and read a few times. Glad to have a new convert! And I think we all better enjoy turning actual paper pages while we can, because I really don't think it is going to be all that long before you won't be able to get actual paper book like we are used too, unless you go to a used bookstore. Take care and stay safe!

It's also probably one of the only mags that I re-read. I think I have every issue that I've ever bought and will pick them up over and over again.

I only advertise in Backwoodsman, and this will be the last year there. Costs way too much.

Same here. I also keep going back to the idea of getting the complete "best of" set.

I am sure that would be a good buy. I really should just bite the bullet and subscribe.

I was actually thinking of turning the Dollar Store Survival thread into an article and submitting it to BWM. Stomper told me they give you a free subscription if they print your article. Really appeals to my cheap side. :)

That's a great idea!

Based on y'alls recommendations, I just got my first copy of Backwoodsman. Very interesting. Just reading the letters now but already feel a kinship of some kind. Where else can you read about starting a dead truck with a chainsaw?

I'm basically a city dweller and computer hacker, but I grew up in the woods (CT) and have great affinity for survival skills, Native American lore, guns and knives, camping and general outdoor living.

Anyway, I hope this is the start of new and great adventures for me and my GF. We're both looking for places to camp out together. :D

Hands down my favorite mag. Some issues are way better than others but I do save them all, cause there is and has been some great info in them that I have gone back to time and time again. John its too bad it costs too much for you to advertise there. I guess it depends upon how much business you get from the advertising, your ad's are very noticable and cool especiallly since I know ya Im always braging when the mag is out or someone is looking at one and I see you ad " HEY I KNOW THAT GUY ! " either way great mag- Joel
