I thought i would play in the yard some today with the bk16 , and decided to try some fire building with some crap wood I found lying around .

The wood wouldn't even let me even think about making curls.
The wood was knotty and didn't want to split or cooperate in the least bit.

But Alas! It succombed to the blade!

help from "rolled edge" and my 6 year old was much appreciated :)

A day in the backyard burning and cutting is better then a day at the hospital!

That coating, it be wore man........jasco, it's our blades' friend! LOL

I spent some time today working on my gear...always fun to get the toys out and piddle around.

(you cheated, I saw that match!)

i hurt the whole time but it was fun to be out with my brother and teach my son . damn vasectomy....

Reminds me, I found this today when cleaning my pack out...I ate the other one that night, thanks for the contraband Guts! I may save this one for the Fall gathering....maybe I'll share it with ya LOL

the firesteel was buried alive in the depths of the warbag . the matches were on the kitchen table . thats the first ive used matches in a long time and i have to tell ya , it felt weird but it was cool to do something different.

I first read "Backyard Bushcraft Surgery," and I'll admit my left eyebrow went up.

Glad to hear everything when o.k. Gutsy! How many bags of frozen peas did ya go through? Lol?

i'm still using various frozen veggies ! the doc had a hard time on my right side and its felt like death ever since.

I gotta do this, this year...ooh, I am not liking this at all.
thanks for your post, but it makes it scary as hell, I gotta tell yeh.

Don't worry. You'll be fine. It's a fairly quick and easy "keyhole" procedure. Minimal bleeding and short recovery period.

You should hear him grunt every time he moves. I should have taken that sweet Bk 16 off of him in his weakned state but he can shoot better than me.

climbingrocks is full of it , dont believe him ! really it just hurts on one side because that side didnt want to cooperate . and if my sore aching self wants to use matches instead of other means , then i guess that means i have to do this whole thing over again cept with something that makes sparks . cant please anybody !

Nice pics man, good to see you're on the mend. Hell finding decent matches these days can be a challenge in and of itself.

Good to see you out enjoying yourself. As for the surgery......pics or it didnt happen ;)
