Bacon!? Yes, but why not ham?!

We love bacon, but ham too!

I'd thought ill share my actual problem with you HOGS...

Dez 28th i thought: such a spanish Bellota (pata negra) ham - that would be nice once!
So far so good, i found few onlineshops with international shipping from spain to switzerland and ordered a complete leg, payment via paypal - nothing can go wrong.

Soon the shipping was confirmed and i recieved a tracking code.
Spain - Switzerland is less than 1'000 miles continental so i thought some or few days would fit it.

January 4th was an update in tracking showing it leaved spanish country.
But then its getting strange...
No more updates since january 4th...

After few days i asked the seller via mail if its normal like that and get the ansear i should recieve it within the next days.

Nothing came, time after time i thought this thing is getting suspicous and maybe i ran into a scam...

Few mails and many days later still no new updates on tracking, no package recieved...
I mean i recieved TWO busse shippings within this time which were send later and arrived within some days intercontinental...

So i decided to open a paypal dispute.

Well as i guess my patience-gene was getting somehow lost under construction, i was clearly at opinion i runned into a scam and paypal will save me...
After 20 days of waiting i couldnt believe there will arrive anything.
But there was still the "wanting have ham" (and the inexistant patience-gene) in me...

Checked out extremly well few more sellerpages - and ordered a ham!

1 day later, i get UPS-Tracking code, shipment done.

Expected delivery January 24th.
Sounds well so far...


The rest you surley can imagine, but the funny thing is:

UPS truck just started the motor after droping the ham (5 days after ordering), Posttruck waiting behind with a postman screaming: "dont close the door, theres a large package from spain"...

I thought: sh*t, wife will be not amused having TWO big hams in the house, so i went to her:
Me: "Honey, did you knewed that spanish acorn pigs have two backlegs?"
She: "of course they have, why shouldnt they?"
Me: "never mind, just keep it in mind darling!"


So you might think you had problems...
Now you see what REAL problems are

On a more serious note...THIS ^^^ is the way to process ham.

Too many good hams are mauled on bandsaws. I don't like bonemeal in my ham

I like them very much, incredible taste!

But for sure the FBM was only tooked to cut off the bacon rind.
For slicing thin pieces Jerry would have to release the XL Ham carver
Maybe with the Ruk or AK it could work (have to try that lol).


But after some slicing and tasting i realized that those two legs arent really a problem - it turned out that ordinary wine bottles are just too small to combine !
