well this weekend me an my nephew were out riding the 4 wheeler( a big arctic cat 650). we topped a hill, not going more than 12-13 mph and the right front wheel went off in a hole.the damn thing went up on 2 wheels sending me an my lil buddy airborne before bodyslamming me under the weight of the wheeler(about 700 lbs) i blacked out for a second and when i came to the front fender was on my leg an my lil nephews head! i freaked and grabbed the handlebar and lifted with all i had to get it up off his head.i was able to raise it up enough to get it off him,but not enough to get it off me.finally after much hollering my buddy came running and lifted it up enough to get my leg out.my nephew got away with only a bad hematoma on the side of his face while i ended up bruised all the way up my right side, especially on my right hip.been walkin with a limp ever since.but heres the funny part: theres a bruise on my hip in the shape of the sheath for my mk1 which i was wearing at the time. bitch hurts like balls, but seeing as how i have no health insurance, going to the dr is out.guess ill have to do it the ol fashioned way:suck it up and walk it off.ill try and post some pics tonight of my poor lil nephews face(hes only 4 but after i pulled him out from under the wheeler he tried to get it off me)
but my comp is crap and ive had no luck in the past posting pics.

Damn, that sucks. I hope you and the little guy get to feeling better, and that there are no serious injuries.

Did the Mk. 1 get hurt at all?

That could have easily ended worst than that. Glad you're alive and kicking enough to post this.

700lb arctic cat sitting on your nephews head! Maybe your crushed leg saved him from getting a crushed brain. Hope you have helmets.

Scary very scary. So glad you guys survived this! I use to be young and stupid now I am old and have lots of scars. I once had a bruise that lasted for months on my hip in the shape of my glock pistol. I am hoping you learn from this. The quicker you learn the less you will hurt in the future :) And as others have said I am glad your leg hurts had it not been under there your nephew may well be dead.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Glad it was not worse than it was. It could have been deadly. I too am an atv'er. I have seen Soooo many bad accidents. Helmets, goggles, sturdy boots & gloves are good to wear. I hope it was an atv that was actually made to ride 2 people, from the factory. That makes a HUGE difference. On my 2-up Bombardier Traxter-Max, both passengers & drivers weight are in front of the rear axle, vs on or behind it if riding 2 on a single machine or someone sitting on the rear rack. I have witnessed a husband break his wifes neck going up a hill that i have gone up lots of times & even stopped & restarted half way up. He had a 2nd seat bolted onto his rear rack & he hit no holes, it's just that at a certain angle a 1-up will flip, or be on the verge of flipping MUCH easier than one like mine. Life is precious. Protect it, cherish it & embrace it. Hope you get well soon. Sorry for your pain & your nephews pain.

This is our set-up.

wow, sorry to hear it.

we have a motto "all the gear, all the time", wear protection

heal well, heal quick

and if you had a BK2, you could have cut your way out

I'v been in a few atv and dirtbike accidents my self. After the first one I learned to wear a helmet, the second one I probably would have broke my ankle if I wasn't wearing boots. Like bladelite said "All the gear, all the time" (something those idiots on sportbikes should learn when riding on the freeway at 100+ mph without a helmet)

thanx for the well wishes guys, more than anything it scared the hell outta us.i had on a pair of tall wolverine hunting boots and that kinda saved me from a broken leg.our wheeler is set up to accept a seat on the rear rack but most of the weights in the front(where my leg and his head was pinned) mainly because it has a built in electric winch.were gonna be ok but it definitely made us more aware about safety.weve all got helmets now.the mk1 was fine but i shit you not,ive got one bruise from the pommel and another from the sheath on my ass lol! im kinda glad it wasnt my bk2 can you imagine having that beefy bastid slammed into your hip?ouch

Hope y'all have a speedy recovery! My dad always said 3 or 4 wheelers will find you if you tip them, that's why he prefers two wheels. I'm a 3 wheeler fan myself, but they're all fun. Rest up bub!

Glad you guys are fine..aside from the bruises. I personally stay away from ATV's..although I have two dirtbikes and a racebike. They scare the crap out of me lol. Please...always wear a helmet and gloves at least..even if ya going on a 5 minute errand! Get better.

Glad your ok. I tanked a dirtbike at about 30mph 6 months ago and fractured my knee. Entire leg turned pretty colors from knee to the bottom of my foot.

Dude. I am sorry to hear that. I will pray for your healing and safety in further excursions.

thanx guys yall are the best.im gonna get some helmets and gear before i even crank that big boy back up.my hip feels like a hundred bk2s batoning through it at one time but its not broken so im thankful for that.lil dude was jumping on the trampoline laughing his ass off yesterday lookin like he took a solid left hook to his temple lol.im glad hes ok though,i woulda never forgiven myself had he been seriously hurt.ive got 2 boys of my own and they wont be back on it without safety gear as well.thanx for the advice yall,a lesson well learned

dammit man that woulda been bad,im just glad i didnt have my springfield xd on my hip when i fell
