Bad forecast

Wow, that's pretty scary. I don't know if Brits really are running around with a more aggressive "knife culture" than here, but that's some serious evil spin The Man is putting on the situation. It makes it sound like the only reason someone would even begin to contemplate carrying an edged tool is set out on a premeditated assassination  Reading stuff like this makes me realize that I take the freedoms of the US for granted sometimes. Let's hope we never give them up/lose them like on the other side of the pond.

Whatever happend to being responsible for your actions?
Can you really blame a knife for a persons' behavior, apparently so.
Did you notice that they were almost always kitchen knives?
Carry of pocketknives will be banned un the USA sooner than we think. Don't expect either repubs or dems to care about knives...guns will be debated, but knives will be quietly banned and before we know it, gone altogether...

Responsibilty for actions? Hah. Liberls don't know the term. It's always sobebody else's fault, or something's fault. The idea that YOU can be responsible is beyond them. The whole idea is to control you for the better of society!

Its also from the Guardian, 'nuff said.

It still boils down to the copper that is questioning you should he stop and find a knife. If you have a good enough reason to be carrying it then it will be ok. This article is just blowing stuff out of proportion. It dosent for example say how many young men are hospitalized each weekend from pub violence.

It all comes down to the 'good enough' reason. That is completely subjective to the whim of the LEO or the court, as is the whim to stop you or not. I'm not concerned about getting away with it. I question the need for such stupid laws in the first place. It's the principle of it that really gets to me.
grrr.
