Well thank you!! I’ve been loving the knife community so farWelcome Carley, glad you joined us.
While I don't see much to complain about, if it wasn't up to your standards, I am glad you pulled it from the sales. Your knives are good users and nicely made.
I'm glad to have a new young gal here. Many folks think I am female because of my name, but I'm just an old man.
I'm moving this to Shop Talk where more folks can get to know you. Again - Welcome!
I'm sorry for your loss - and dealing with Parkinson's is no picnic for sure.Try 0 for 2 today.
Had a lot on my mind as I just ended an 18 year relationship ( the last 7 with her Parkinson’s Disease.)
I have a whole graveyard of blades I've thrown plus a whiteboard a caved in.Not gonna lie, I’ve thrown one over my shoulder, grabbed the next one and kept grinding without ever looking up more than once.
I was so excited to do another one of my Penguin models. I was having a rough time with my grinds recently though and I thought I had gotten through it until I started my finishing grinds. This one I completely messed up and decided it’s better off as an ornament

Who you calling an old goat!!!
I toss them in a box and go back later. If it is totally messed up, I see if I can make another shape knife from it. If not, it gets trashed.
This reminds me of when I cleaned out Ron Frazier's shop after he died. Besides being 2-feet deep in trash and whiskey bottles, there were knife blades and assembled knives in various stages of grinding and finishing thrown on the floor and stuck in the walls and ceiling ... dozens of them. If Ron was having a bad day, ...and towards the end most were bad days ... he would throw the knife at the wall or ceiling. We found a finished $750 MOP flipper folder behind the stove in a pile of broken lightbulbs and glass when sweeping the place out.. Looked like he had trouble adjusting the liner lock and just chucked it at the wall. We also found many rusted blades in the woods where he would go to the porch and throw it as far as he could. I may have photos on my other computer.
Thought about that….. briefly.People here will say.......there are No mistakes, just smaller knives
Could you have ground down the handle for ballance and make a paring knife? Maybe Next time.....haha.
Welcome
