I recently picked up a mint Sus Scrofa LE in the recent "GIANTganza". He had a bunch of great knives at great prices. Probably should have grabbed a few more. I didn't really know if I'd like the SS or not. The blade shape looked like it might limit its uses a bit. Anyway, I took it out in the bush today to see if I'd like like it.

It came with an amazing Rainwalker leather sheath. This guy really knows how to use leather. The sheath is only equalled by the quality of the blade.

After a minute of stuffing about with the knife my 9 year old asked if she could have a go. I figured now was as good a time as any to get her interested. She wanted to make "hunting spears" out of sticks. Sure, why not!

I had to give her some pointers on grip but she wasn't doing too bad. My 4 year old wanted to get in on the action too. Here she is, disheveled, after crying from a Cicada that landed on her shirt.

By mid afternoon the SS LE had pretty much left my possession. The 9 year old was making pointed sticks whenever she could. She got pretty good in the end.

I'm really proud but she's told me that she needs a Busse LE for either Christmas or her next birthday :( Could be worse. She could be asking for a Nintendo DS3. Who has kids that like this sort of thing, or are mine the only ones that are as crazy as their Dad?

Chris.

My little girl is 5 she loves knives. Even made me make her a knife (cardboard) she always has it tucked in her belt when she's outside lol. When she gets a little older I might make her a small necker. Thanks for posting

Ouch 3 busse fans you will have to support... Welcome to poverty, like you said though its better than most kids these days wanting phones etc.

My daughter is the same way. She is 13 and is a pro. She now owns a Scrapyard Mud Puppy, and a 511. She has 2 machetes, shoots a recurve bowl instinctive style, makes fire 3 ways without matches, shoots my full size Sig 9mm VERY well, throws knives and tomahawks, and makes her own paracord survival bracelets which she sells to earn extra cash. Badass

I applaud all of you guys that get their kids out doors and
Teaches them to be able to take care
Of them selves. The boys will learn responsibility and to take care of others and the girls learn self respect and
Confidence. This is how we shape the future of America! I can't
Wait to share these things with my
Children someday

It looks like the girls were having a great time outside! Thanks for sharing
