Bad Karma?

I have had a bad day.

While driving home to see my parents for the weekend I ran over something that looked like the lid off of a paint can as I passed another car. It busted my radiator and my lower radiator hose. After the tow and the parts I will not be able to afford the trip to Catoosa on my college student budget.

Worst of all is that I was going to give Ruel a drive from Ft. Worth.

I hate to back out of commitments at the last minute, and even worse I hate letting others down. Let's try to find him a ride if possible.

Dave, I'm very sorry to hear that.

I got to make the First Khonvention in Reno, and meet several guys in person. It was indeed an experience to remember. Yvsa is right when he says that the people are the same way in person as on the forum.

I am also not going to make it to Catoosa but I can periodically swing by and see Uncle. It's got to be a major disappointment to you, and as you put it to have someone else counting on you as a ride too! Ouch.

Sorry to hear your plans got derailed. I won't be going either, although I would love to. I have even had to drop out of school for this semester while I try and shut down the studio. I guess it'll take me 24 years to finish this danged degree...

But I plan on making it next year come hook or crook. I hope your semester (or at least your weekend) gets better...

Sorry to hear that, Dave.
I'll quote an old proberb for some cheer up, "Fate is a rope of twisted threads of luck and unluck. cannot tell which is which". Let's presume your accident saved you from worse things you might have met if without the accident. I'm glad you're safe and sound enough to share your experience with us forumites albeit the high cost you were forced to pay for it was not cheaper.

Rusty, I'm sorry to hear that you cannot come as well:( I had assumed that you were coming I guess. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get to meet you at one of these Konventions:) Its just great that there are more coming to look forward to!

Dave, I know you wanted to hit the Catoosa convention badly. Email me personally. Maybe we can find a way to help.
 
Reminds me what a good bunch of people frequent this forum.

WrongFriend, neat analogy on the rope/luck. Will try to integrate rather than remember it.
