Just sold a brand new F3 to somebody on the bay. The guy sends me a message that the knife has a "bad lock slip" and wants a refund.
I handled the knife after I got it new from GP Knives and it functioned perfectly.
Admittedly, I did not do any abusive testing. Anybody else had such problem with an F3?
The guy has 100% positive feedback, no reason not to believe him, but I don't want to take a hit either.
Any info or advice are appreciated

I think you need more info. Doubt you're gonna take a hit even if you take it back. Curtiss is a pretty hot property right now and there are loads of people who would take that knife off your hands. Of course you don't want to sell it if the lock really slips but I'm sure Dave will cover it in the unlikely event that's true. I'd get it myself, but I just ordered an F3/Phantom collaboration and I couldn't afford it. :)

My lockup 3.5 came out of the box at about 50%. The blade was brand new from gpknives, but the action didn't seem that smooth to me. I sprayed wd-40 on the pivot as was suggested, and then all of a sudden the action was worse, sticky and the lockup would easily slip to about 90% from flicking it open, and when I gripped the handle hard the lockbar moved to the opposite scale. This was within the first half hour of owning the knife. I returned it (great customer service at gpknives) and i just bought another one with an early lockup, hoping I was just unlucky and bought a lemon before.

It sounds like you over lubricated it and got WD40 on the lockface/blade tang...

Yeah maybe I did get some on the lockface. I lubricate every knife I get because I live on the ocean and I want to have the peace of mind that the pivot area is protected (maybe maker forgot to). I have done the same thing with 6 different xm-18's a bunch of times with no problems at all, and I know I got lubricant on the lockface. This is my only Titanium framelock I've had besides the xm-18, so maybe my standards are a little high.
