Hey guys, ever seem like nothing is going right?
first,around the end of Aug I was hit by a forklift at work. It seperated my shoulder and strained some ligiments. I'm finally starting to feel able to use it almost normaly again.
Then, a couple weeks ago, I had someone break into my garage / shop and they bout cleaned me out. Only things left behind were either bolted to the bench or too heavy. They got my bike, my paintball gear, all my handle material except a couple special peices I keep in the house, they took a few knives I had in progress most of which were still un-ht'd. They took my two billets of damascus that I'd been saving, but left my other steel stock alone from what I can tell. They got my tool chest and most of my small hand tools but luckily my drill press, band saw and grinder were either too heavy or too much trouble to take.
Finally to make things worse, my wife was trying to earn some extra money for christmas so she applied to become a secret shopper on a website she found. well the whole thing turned out to be a con and we were taken for a $4000 ride. :barf:
Looks like it's gonna be awhile before I'm making any knives, will have to find a way to replace everything that was taken.

Bummer.

Hope things start looking up for you. Hopefully, the thieves get caught by a hungry tiger and eaten, and the police return your items.
 
Ouch. And I thought I was having a bad week. A (rather large) check that I deposited from a customer bounced. He hasn't answered my email, so I don't know yet if he is a crook or just made a mistake. What's really disgusting, is that, trusting guy that I am, I already sent the knife....

Then today the motor that runs my power hammer quit working. So I'm kind of on a vacation for awhile...
 
@ Jason and Phillip, I feel for you both. I'll be keeping your in my Prayers.

Jason, I don't have a whole lot of supplies as things have been lean around here as well. But I'm willing to share what I have. I have some handle material I could share, but honestly a lot of it needs stabilized. I just haven't had the $$$ to send it off for stabilization yet. Most of it is spalted Maple (which is soft until it's stabilized). I also have some 1/8th 01or a little bit of 1/8th 1095 and some pin material I could share.
 
I went to work at the factory,
But a big ol forklift run right over me.
So I took a few weeks off for R&R,
Went down with the fellows to the local bar.


I got home late in my pick up truck,
What met my eyes really sucked.
The garage was empty, and the tools were all gone.
The danged thieves even took the knives I wuz workin' on.

So I sucked it up and went back to work,
Figured, "Hell, things couldn't get no worse."
I wuz wrong - My gal got a job, that was just a scam.
Now were payin for that cuz those scumbags are still on the lam.

Man I hope I do not have a 3 run in bad luck.. 1] The wife was pocket scanned ,,got took on a card ,thank god it was a non used one , the card co. called and asked if we used it..
2] Just got over a house fire at 7 am.Sunday ,, lucky for me, I was on top it as a light sleeper ,on guard you might say..Looked like a 4 alarm fire for a few hours on my street...All and all came out lucky..
Sure do not want to get run over by a fork lift..... Take care out there...
