Well, we found out today at work that the company is being broken up ( we filed bankruptcy a while ago) and that the company buying our division wont need us.

So I'll be out of a job in 2-4 months.

I could use your best wishes and prayers.

I am doing OK so far, I do have some time.

Also, anyone in that can get to the Sharp Edge ( a great bar) in Pittsburgh PA by 7PM on Fri 8/29 is welcome to join the party I'm organizing.

Sorry I'm not more coherent but I've had a couple of Scotches already.

Red,

Sorry to hear the news. Hope you have luck in finding more work. Will keep you in our prayers.

Red, you're doing fine, Scotch (what kind, BTW?) or not.

Wish you the best of luck. Wish I could join your party.

Things could be worse, much worse. If you're only estimating 4-6 months you'll be fine. It does look like the economy is finally moving up a bit so I wish you the best of luck.

Enjoy your whisky.

That's very unfortunate but you'll overcome! Best of luck to your search.

Cheers!

It is always hard to lose any job but, you have some time to make sure you have something else to go to. Good luck in the search. I'll put you in my prayers. :)

Jobs come and go. What counts is your health and your family.

You'll do just fine. Hang in there.

You'll be back! (said with Schwarzeneggarian accent)

Am sure you'll find something you like soon. This temporary period of uncertainty will make your return all the more triumphant. Best wishes in the meantime.

I'm sorry to hear that, amigo. A damned shame.

All I can say is, I've been there, done that, got the T-Shirt. You'll get through it and make it work.

How do I know?

Because, what other choice do you have (shrug)? Good luck, Red. Always remember that you have a lot of folks here pulling for you, and for what it's worth, I'll fire a prayer to the Man Upstairs for you and your family.

Hang tough, amigo.

Don

Hang in there Red, thoughts and prayers coming. Tough times don't last. For what it's worth, I've been there twice, the light at the end of the tunnel isn't always easy to see, but it's there.

Sorry to hear that Red. Keep your head and you'll pull through fine, plus you've got a great support group here in the Cantina. Good luck in your job search.

I'll wish you luck if you do the same for me. :)

Since I don't have a car I'm gonna have to get a job at the campus to satisfy my firearms and knife addiction oh yea, and a crappy beater car....

Start the search...for the the window that's just been opened. I believe (and have always found it to be true) that a door doesn't shut without a window of opportunity opening up. Hang in there and have faith.

Just found out that Union Pacific RR is hiring for train crews like mad all over. First couple years was a little touch and go , but after that it's not bad. I will admit your hind side gets a thorough workout. Takes some getting used to the hours, unless your ex-military, but it's a job.

Success on your exciting new adventure.

If it can be seen as a new beginning/challenge/opportunity then it seems to work out much better than if seen and felt as a sad and tragic ending.

I don't mean to come across as a Pollyanna, but the many many times I had to make MAJOR changes, some of them forced -I might add,it helped to make the change with confidence that something bigger and better was coming and sure enough that's what happened.

Hang in there. Use the early warning to your advantge. I am sure that it will be for the best in the long run.
