Well, sometimes things just don't work out the way you'd hope. If you'll recall, last September, I posted for smoke and prayers for a friend of mine who had gone missing. Unfortunately, sometimes good wishes aren't enough. Yesterday, they found his body.

It was a pretty hard thing, searching in vain for him. He had left a suicide note, but since an exhaustive search turned up no body, we all sort of maintained some hope that he was just avoiding the world someplace. Yesterday, as the country club was beginning to open their pool for the season, they discovered a body that had been there under the cover for a long time. Today, dental matches confirmed that it was Paul.

Pretty big let-down. It's sad that a friend could get to such a point. At least there is closure now, and everybody can finally know with certainty what happened.

I thank you all for your support, and wish you all the best. Give your loved ones a hug, ok?

Chris

I'm so sorry. I work with a lot of suicide families and it is just devastating to all involved. Look for a network of Survivors of Suicide to get some time in a group of people going through the same. It is very helpful.:(

I'm so sorry for you Chris. I trained a good friend on the machines I worked on and then I moved away to SoCal. When I returned home I found out that Gary had taken his life in a very tragic way.
It hurts.:(

I am sorry, I once had a friend and fellow jarhead that shoved his M16 under his chin and pulled the trigger. I understand how you feel

Smoke that he finds peace...and for his friends and loved ones left behind.

My condolences to you for your loss. Your friend will be in the back of your mind for the rest of your life, and he'll pop up in your thoughts when you least expect him.

Smoke and prayers from Atlanta Chris!! So sorry to hear this. Suicide is a hard thing to get yourself past. Seems to linger with wonderings, and doubt. You and his family are in my thoughts.

I am so sorry for you, Chris

Peace,

Dear Chris,
From my own life's experience I can say that suicide is a tougher than average way to lose a friend.
<>< Prayers and condolences
