BAD or SRKW Howling Rat?

I've seen these two, but I'm torn. As I understand it the Busse Active Duty (BAD) and the Howling Rat (HR) both have convex edges? I think that these two fill pretty much the same role, and only would need one of them. Which would you choose and why? If you own both, which do you prefer? The price point on the HR is certainly pretty good, but the BAD is INFI. Is there really a quantifiable difference between the steels in these two that would justify the price difference? Please let me know!

Sincerely,
Anthony

I don't have a HR or an Active Duty, but I do have a Public Defender, so I'll comment on that:)

The micarta scales on my PD are great. So that's going to be one difference between the two. The AD is just a little thinner, I don't know if that matters to you. The AD is also a little shorter, really more of a small concealable, where the HR seems to be a great utility blade.

I can't comment on the steel as I haven't used SR101.

If you really can't decide, I'd go for the HR. You can always sell it if you don't like it and buy the AD. The Swamp Rat knives don't stick around long in b/s/t (heck I'll buy it!).

Finally, the rats are good "gateway drugs" so be warned:D Post over in the Busse or SWKW forums. Great people over there, I'm sure they'll be able to help you a lot more than I can.

The AD is more "custom like" than the HR, the busse is just higher quality. It's hard to find knives that compare to busse ;)
The Swamp rats are like the basic line with SR101 steel rather infi.
Buy the HR, a nice prep for the Busse, but once you go Busse, there's no turning back ;)
Don't take what chief said lightly, they ARE gateway drugs, and you WILL get addicted :D

I've got an INFIcoot coming my way soon. I figured that will hold me off until I can get the Busse AD...:D
