Buck knives got a bad rap on this one....My home page is my local news station here in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Got on line tonight and the first story on the top was this one with the same picture you see here (this is the story itself after I clicked on it)

http://www.wtsp.com/news/news.aspx?storyid=27684

Wonder if they use that pic everytime a knife story with bad publicity comes around...Could be a kitchen knife that was used.

Keith

I looked to see if there was an email address... didn't see one right off..
Would have sent them an email asking a bunch of questions.

  ...Keith, I have seen that exact picture used here before. It seems like it's a "stock" photo that they use almost any time there's mention of an occurance involving a knife of any sort. This is Florida ya know...a lack of originality isn't too unusual down here...

...I did send them an email regarding the picture of the knife in their lead to the story. This photo is not only on the website, it is also being flashed on the television as a lead in to the televised story this evening. I included my phone number so I'll either get a reply via email or by phone. By the way...It appears that the stabbings occured in Hudson, Florida...Guess where I live...

And exactly where WERE you at 8am on the morning in question? :jerkit:  :D

I don't particularly mind the generic photos...at least they don't show the brand...but what gets me annoyed is when the newspaper/news station decides to slant the story politically... :grumpy:

...LOL...Mike , I was about 6 feet into a colonoscopy on one of the senior citizens of the fair state of Florida at 8:00 am this morning when the aforementioned incident took place...and I have pics somewhere in the center to prove it...LMAO...   :p

Well, I guess you're safe, however another few feet and we would probably have had to send in a search team! :D  :D

You guys are hilarious. ............

Liberal press. Probably the same one they use in California. Let's face it, they won't be content until we are all disarmed and living in padded cells.

Disarmed, yes...living in padded cells, I doubt it. More like cell blocks or six feet under. Preston

I'm wondering if they show a pic of the bridge at Chappaquiddick whenever there is a case of one leaving the scene of an accident?

Aaaahhhhhhh, That Mod.119 sure gets around, every time there is a slasher sequence on T.V. or movies...........:grumpy:
Dan

Buckaholic,
It seems you are disparaging the hero of Chappaquiddick!! Isn,t Teddy the proposed honorary captain of the next US olympic swim team?

Oh please. It's Bush and his crew that would rather see us unarmed. They're the ones that made a little box cutter the symbol of absolute terror. Find me a more sheeple friendly knife than a box cutter and I'll give you a cookie.

I get really tired of all this "liberals are anti-everything" BS that's so common. Not all of us are afraid of a gun or a knife, or a terrorist.

I am not willing to disclose my political leanings here on the blade forum, however, in the defense of those poor transportation safety folks, it was box cutters that were used during the 911 hijackings I believe.

All I'll say on that point is that it wasn't box cutters that hijacked those planes. It was people unwilling to defend themselves and a radical religious faction who probably had control more through the use a fear than a little box cutter.

I have no intentions of bringing politics into it. I just get tired of closed minded fools thinking all of us liberals are terrified little cowards. So, back to your regularly scheduled program... :p

Or perhaps lulled into the belief it was a simple hijacking, nobody getting hurt, just a quick trip to Cuba and then on to their destination...or something like that...

I think you hit the nail on the head Trax. Particularly when you consider the last plane got word through family on cell phones that other planes had been crashed into the trade center buildings and they went into action.
