This is really, really wierd. I got a stick of Old Spice deoderant, that Mountain Rush scent that they have. I've used it before and liked it, smells fine and everything. Well when I unwrapped this stick, it smelled like B.O.! Honest to God, it smells like some guy who hasn't showered in days! Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I've never had anything like that happen, but it is possible that perhaps your stick was at the end of the batch and the machine that shoots in the dash of perfume had run empty or something.

There's probably an 800 number on the label. Give 'em a call. My guess is they'll mail you a coupon for a new stick.

This reminds me of that scene in Fight Club where Tyler Durdin pisses in the soup in the hotel kitchen...lets hope Gollnick is right.

Maybe you stink so bad that your vile stench overpowers the deodorant. :p ;) :D

Why else do you think I'm buying the super-duper high powered Red Zone stuff? It's supposed to be able to cover that damnit! :D

strange that you mention this, just a month or two ago i got a stick of old spice and it smelled strange too. not really BO but it was pretty funky/musty.

Maybe you grabbed the sample stick by mistake. :D :p

ok ... i know that is gonna get flamed.... i cant help it if i can remember 6th grade.

Did it have the plastic cover when you opened it? If not, someone else used it right then and there in the middle of the aisle to cover up a little!

Update: Yes it did have the cover on it when I brought it home from the store. Anyway, I called Old Spice today and am getting a coupon in the mail for a replacement. The funny thing is that I expected the operator to be a little surprised when I described the smell as BO, but he just repeated it as he wrote it down like it happened every day. Weird man.

It always makes me wonder when they have that attitude, but I got a worse reaction once, when I called Jennings to ask them to send me a new firing pin. No problem, they'd mail one right out to me, no don't bother sending us the broken one -- then I asked her if they got a lot of broken firing pins (because I was wondering if maybe I should buy a few spares). She said no, she'd never heard of a firing pin breaking like that -- safeties, yes, but not firing pins.
